You should feel improvement as the bike ‘breaks in’ and the moving parts fit better. All machines need babying for the first 600 miles. Agreed. Such a modification would definitely invalidate your insurance. I’m not being a killjoy, it would be irresponsible to disable a safety device.

It certainly feels like an electrical switch operating a solenoid. You can hear the solenoid kick. If it was pulling a cable, it would be much stiffer.
