Re: Full Synthetic Oil
I hate to extend a dreaded oil thread...but I can't help myself :-) There is no need for "motorcycle" oil in our CVT-equipped steeds. Scooters don't have a wet clutch so there are no friction modifiers required. Due to this, any car oil of the proper viscosity will work. There are a millio...

Re: Need some advice
Hi MotoNoob, welcome to the group! That price seems a bit high, but ALL vehicles...especially ones that get great gas mileage, are very expen$ive right now. The biggest upside of a used vehicle is that you don't have to pay freight or setup charges. These can have a huge impact on the out-the-door p...

Re: New PCX 160 - is it getting smoother over time?
+1 on the YSS shocks. I like them much better than the stock ones on my 2019. There was a lot of discussion on here about people swapping the springs to even lighter ones to soften the ride. Contacting YSS direct there in Thailand would probably be the best bet. I'm sure it will be much easier than ...

Looks cool. Is the rear wheel smaller or still a 14"? Looks small but it may just be the perspective.

Re: PCX clutch wouldn't disengage
The clutch is working fine and noticeably smoother. Of course cleaning everything might have done that?? Time will tell. Nice work mymitzi!. I skipped the contra spring that was included in the Malossi variator kit I installed last year but I will dig back into it soon and finish the job. Cheers! d...

Re: PCX clutch wouldn't disengage
Have you done any maintenance in that area recently? Have any aftermarket clutch parts? My first thought is maybe a broken or damaged spring or a pad with a damaged lining. If it was mine, I would take the clutch bell off and see if you can find any obvious issues in there. Some of the aftermarket c...

Ultimately, this guy replaced his stator and fixed a no noise/no start problem. Let us know what you find.

Re: stutter, close to cut off whilst riding
ahulleman, I would recommend trying to track down a copy of the Honda Factory Service Manual. It is WAY better than a Haynes manual and should help guide you through any service you're trying to perform. I'm not sure if there is a UK-specific vendor but in the US, Helm Inc are the ones to talk to. w...

Re: Hello Newbies! We're Glad You Found Us!
I've just bought a 2014 pcx 125 with only 2,000 miles on the clock and i'm really looking forward to riding it. I'm a middle aged male from north west uk. Welcome Tyke! Glad you're here. That's not many miles for an 8-year old scoot so I would recommend going through all the maintenance items that ...

Oh wow! I will have to keep a close eye on my Tucano and make sure it's not eating my paint too. I feel like the way that the forward strap is rigged on yours is different than mine. I will have to take a look.

I think Dab is probably right. The cold can kill a battery when it's left sitting. Did you have a battery tender on it over the winter?
If you want to make sure before you buy a new one, you could take it to an auto parts store and have them do a load test on it. Good luck

Re: If battery goes dead
Will the sat release still operate if the battery was to go dead? The button on the dash is connected to the latch by a cable so no need to have power for that part. What I'm not sure about is if you will be able to turn the ignition knob with a totally dead battery. Perhaps someone with a smart-ke...

Re: Hello Newbies! We're Glad You Found Us!
The best road bike that I have owned turned out to be a $500 barn find, 1977 Honda Goldwing. Great looking Goldwing Ron! I really love the bikes from the mid 70s through mid 80s. My first bike was a 1982 KZ750 Spectre And I really enjoyed riding it around Idaho. I would love to have a new Kawasaki ...
