Re: I have to change the tire valve stems
I decided to accept the advice of those here, and I removed the adapters. I will just put them on when checking tire pressure or adding air. I'm just glad I have the adapters to make this task easier. Keeping one in the small storage area on the dash, along with a tire gauge, seems easy enough to do...

Re: I have to change the tire valve stems
Rode the scooter once since putting them on. Went for about 50 miles total and noticed no difference in the ride at all. For now, I plan on leaving them on permanently.

Re: I have to change the tire valve stems
The adapters from Amazon arrived, and the end of one was not threaded! I had to return them to Amazon, but the replacements arrived a day later. They seem to be just what I needed and are now on the scooter. Should make checking air pressure and adding air much, much simpler.

Re: I have to change the tire valve stems
Thanks. I just ordered a set from Amazon and hope that helps. I hadn't ever thought of this and thought I would have to get new stems on the tire. Much simpler this way as long as they don't cause air to leak.

I have to change the tire valve stems
I got down on the ground this morning to check the air pressure in my PCX's tires and to add some air. What a pain it is to try to get a tire pressure gauge on to the stem in that small wheel. And then trying to figure out a way to get the air hose from my air compressor onto the stem as well. I gue...

Re: Help: Battery dead after 6month left sitting.
Both my PCX and my Honda Goldwing have a pigtail installed (couldn't be easier to do) that I leave hanging out from under the seat whenever I am not riding it. I routinely hook the scooter up to a Battery Tender where it keeps the batter at full charge indefinitely. It will not allow the battery to ...

Re: Scooter Decision -2016 Honda PCX OR 2008 Suzuki Burgman
I love riding my PCX, but admittedly I keep the throttle at full much of the time. Today I went for a 45 mile ride and my fuel efficiency dropped to the lowest level I have seen in a year of ownership, 48 mpg. PReviously I was getting upward of 100 mpg. But even 78 is a bit more double the 38 that I...

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
After a few rides with the tall National Cycle windscreen I am convinced that it was a good choice. The buffeting to my chest is almost nonexistent now. And a strange added benefit: the scooter now goes faster. With the stock scooter the fastest I could get it to go was 64. Now, with this taller win...

I wonder how Kymco compares to Honda in terms of reliability.

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
The new windscreen from National Cycle is now installed. It is moderately high but not so high that I would have to look through it, i.e., I still look over it. There is no question that it reduces wind force on my chest (I rode the scooter home from my mechanic who installed the screen for me, a ri...

Curious as to why you keep track of how many times you fill up the scooter?

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
Funny that you mention the Vespa. Before I bought my PCX150 I started my search by demo riding the Vespa 300 (not sure which model). Very powerful; I was able to get up to 70 mph in no time, with throttle left to spare. But in part I was looking for a scooter that my wife might right, and I found th...

What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I love my PCX, but my butt and spine aren't too happy when I hit a pothole or bump in the road. I realize that his is a lightweight scooter, but I wish Honda had designed a better suspension system. What after market improvements have others done to improve this aspect of the scoots ride? Thanks in ...

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
If Honda offered the PCX with a 300cc engine and without increasing the weight or size of the scooter significantly it would be about perfect. I guess the Forza fills that role but I am not sure if Honda still ships that to the U.S.

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
I guess it depends on what you buy the scooter for. If you goal is to be able to ride on high speed highways, but you still want a 149cc scooter, then a lot lot of mods to increase the top speed would be reasonable. I bought the scooter for other purposes and have an 1832cc motorcycle for when I nee...

Re: Ordered a new windscreen
When I refer to "highway" I am thinking of the Interstate highways, and even with a screen I would never even think of doing so with the PCX. The speed limit on the Interstates by me is 70, with most traffic moving at 75 to 80. Even in the right lane I would not want to try it with the top...

Ordered a new windscreen
I love the PCX and sometimes prefer to take it out for a ride over taking my Honda Goldwing. Today was one of those days. I went to my mechanic, about 25 miles from my home, so today's ride was 50 miles roundtrip. The PCX worked perfectly, other than when I was on a 55mph road and traveling at 55 to...

Re: a bad idea
Not sure who you are referring to. Personally I have no trouble with the roundabouts in my community, most of which are two lane rather than a single lane. Whether on two wheels or four I find the roundabouts generally more efficient and safe that having traffic lights at the intersection or four wa...
