Re: PCX Ride from NJ to CA - Part I
I'm a new PCX owner and already found how much a slight incline in the road can inhibit speed. Keeping up 50+ on a 55 mph road was not possible as I went up some very moderate hills. I cannot imagine trying to make it over the Rockies, unless you are on virtually empty roads where riding at 10-15 mp...

Re: PCX Ride from NJ to CA - Part I
A cross country trip on any open two wheeled vehicle can be a real challenge. Doing it with a 149cc scooter with limited storage capability is unthinkable, in my opinion. I've done trips of over 2,500 miles on various motorcycles, and all were both fun and challenging. Going days on end in 95 plus d...

Re: New member, with a question
When I bought the PCX the dealer did not even mention that Honda makes a different windscreen. Is it worthwhile, and what does exorbitant cost mean?

Re: Old vs New Forza 300
I've enjoyed reading this thread because I think that the new PCX150 I bought in great part as a first bike for my wife, will prove to be underpowered for her in the near future. She had never ridden and wanted to start, but was intimidated by the traditional motorcycle design with the need for manu...

Re: Average age of PCX/Forza owners?
I turn 76 in two days. I started my love affair with motorized 2 wheelers over 35 years ago with a Honda Elite scooter, and now have a new 2019 PCX150 in the garage sharing space with my 2016 Goldwing. I've only had the scooter for about 2 weeks now, and in part bought it to help my wife get comfort...

Re: New member, with a question
As far as buying her a Forza 300 later, you had better let her decide on that. My wife sat on one and her feet could not touch the floor (tiptoes only). The seat is wider than that on the PCX. If she goes through the Motorcycle safety course she may prefer a regular motorcycle once she learns to shi...

Re: Expectant owner
I'm a new PCX owner myself, with just about 200 miles on the odometer. I've mostly worn a 3/4 helmet from Bell, and found that the wind factor is not a real problem until I get up to about 50 mph. When going 50 or more, I just pull down the clear visor to help block the wind, then pop it back up whe...

Re: New member, with a question
where traffic routinely is traveling 75 or 80 mph...... .....you need something around 500-650cc You are probably right. When I had a Silverwing, 583 cc, I had no trouble reaching 100 mph and easily handled any Interstate. Maybe after the PCX we could look at the Burgman 650. Or possibly she will j...

Re: New member, with a question
If we ever move "up" to the Forza, it will not be for two up riding, but for my wife to ride while I ride the Goldwing. And while the PCX has no trouble keeping up about 55, there is no way I would venture onto Interstate roads or certain other highways, where the speed limit is 65 or 70 m...

Re: New member, with a question
Thanks for all the advice. When I picked up the PCX150 and rode it home from the dealer, about 30 miles or so, it was primarily on 55mph roads and I had no problem even while I was trying to be gentle with the throttle on this new scooter. I've already had my wife on it several times in a big parkin...

Re: How do you get to the battery?
Thanks. I should have read further into the owner's manual. I erroneously thought that one of the plastic side panels needed to be removed to get to the battery. Much more sensible placement in the under seat area than some bikes that I have owned. Should be easy to attach the line for use with a ba...

How do you get to the battery?
I should have asked the dealer, but how does the panel come off to access the battery? Right now its not an issue, but come next winter I will need to either remove the battery to put it on a Battery Tender, or attach a pigtail so that I can hook it up to the Tender while leaving it in the scooter. ...

Re: New Member, New PCX
I also just got my new 2019 PCX150 and thought the ride surprisingly nice, so maybe the suspension is better than in older models. I only have about 100 miles so far, and I'm averaging about 90 mpg, which brings a real smile to my face when I think of the 38 mpg I get on my Goldwing. The nimbleness ...

Re: Location! Location! Location!
Thanks for the welcome. I grew up in Brooklyn, and occasionally visit Oceanside on Long Island where my older brother lives. I think a scooter would be the perfect vehicle for that environment. I always think, when visiting there, that if I lived in that endless sprawling suburban environment, I wou...

Re: New member, with a question
I rode it home from the dealer today, getting home from the 25 mile ride just moments before the rain started coming down. The ride immediately brought back my memories of riding the Honda Elite 150 back in the mid 1980's. A really fun ride, and no trouble keeping up 50 to 55 with the traffic around...

New member here. Live in Rockford, IL (about an hour and a half drive west of Chicago). We have some nice local roads, 2 lane, 55 mph, generally light traffic.

Re: New member, with a question
This all started out as me buying a second bike, a smaller and lighter bike for quick rides and errands. I actually was leaning toward one of the new 400cc Husqvarna bikes, but then remembered what fun I used to have on my old Honda Elite scooter. And that's when my wife started showing some interes...

Re: New member, with a question
My intention was the same, limit riding to secondary roads with 55mph limits. Thanks for the answers, that was just what I was hoping to hear.

New member, with a question
I just bought a new PCX150 and hope to pick it up and take it home today (or tomorrow if the weather today is terrible as predicted). I wanted a second bike to my Goldwing, and decided on a scooter in great part because my wife, who has ridden with me as a passenger for many years, said she would ri...
