Re: Rain Riders

Thanks, Paul.......Now that's an impressive example. Good news for others. One thing that confounds me is why the fuse never failed.
The switch and the wire harness connector both failed. Just one of those things.........suppose.

Re: Rain Riders

Thanks..........but the 2013 PCX headlight has a Halogen bulb. Here's an eBay link that shows the Chinese version. Good price, poor results.

Appreciate though.

Re: Rain Riders

Wow.........with shipping to USA, $9.63 ! Will contact them to see what oem headlight bulbs sell for.
Hope it's equally shocking! Have a hunch that with the prevalence of scooters, in Europe, more volume,
lower prices. Only PCX headlights on eBay here, Chinese. Thanks again, Coasting.

Re: Rain Riders

Thanks Coasting......at that price, tempted to get a spare. Please post a link? Speaking of bulbs....have replaced both headlights, and the oem bulbs are pricey. Just ordered a pair @ $47.00 [oem] Break my heart again! Forza was a bit cheaper but?? Tried the Chinese bulbs........not good.

Re: 2013 PCX moveable drive

Thanks Mel.....The deed is done.....Had the 2015 parts not been compatible, probably would have gone NCY route. Maybe ,next time??

Thanks S_F ....... Maybe mine was just a rare case....a good thing. Happened after soaking rain.......more than likely a coincidence.

Re: Rain Riders

Just wondered if others have experienced switch failures..... and if riding in the rain might be a factor.

Re: 2013 PCX moveable drive

Agree..........might have gone that route. However, the 2015 part was only $15.00 [inner & outer about $20.00 together] Hard for this bargain seeker to pass up. Know the NCY increases the speed,substantially......but, rarely ride near those speeds. Pretty much just back roads. Interstates etc, n...

Rain Riders

I've been caught out in it but generally don't head out in it. Recently had the headlight dimmer switch fail.[PCX] Turned out to be the switch and the wire. Not too bad of a job, and the wire harness was [unexpectedly] cheaper than the switch which was about $24.00. Harness about $16.00. Asking you ...

2013 PCX moveable drive

Just a heads up if you use stock parts. The 2015 moveable drive is compatible with the 2013 [same boss for both years] Big price difference. The 2013 piece is $70.00 something. The 2015, about $15.00. A bit cheaper at Partzilla [about $60.00] The 2015 outer drive immoveable is only about $5.00. Ridi...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed

One more thing... [Peter Falk impression] Can you run it on the centerstand with the trans cover off so you can better tell if the noise is coming from the Front [drive] or the the clutch area [driven] If you can isolate the noise to one or the other, your that much closer to finding the source.

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed

Yes....The variator with rollers and ramp plate & boss all slide onto the drive shaft together. Understand your concern about the grease but, there is just a wee bit......hardly noticeable. I put a smaller than pea size dab on my finger and coat the outside of the cleaned boss and then wipe most...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed

Since it is only at idle, was wondering if the boss [out side part, that contacts variator] could be causing the problem. The boss is locked in place on the crankshaft,so the inside part of the boss always turn at the same speed as the crank. Maybe the movement between the variator and the boss is t...

Is your key notched on both sides? If yes..... Probably a defect. Maybe someone with a 2019 will come along and chime in.

Re: Always impressed with the PCX

Agree............its a sweet ride...........stock parts are very reasonable. Sometimes wish it was smoother riding but an air wolf or
some other gel cushion can help there. Forza is more capable/comfortable , but....for me, the PCX is more fun. And I wish I was
68 again! : )

Re: Belt chatter?

Are you sure its the belt? When you had it apart to "treat" the belt, did you happen to take the clutch Bell off and clean the dust out of it? One good thing about the PCX belt, its very reasonable [$30.00 or so ] I'd clean the dust off the bell and the clutch pads and throw a new belt on ...
