Find a courier company and do deliveries for them. Food and essential personal items are needed for the shut-in people. Good luck! This is a good idea, one of my friend who usually works in a bar is also doing this as he is also unemployed at the moment because of this pandemic. His neighbor makes ...

Re: ny is rough

UV does kill viruses and bacteria - however if it is already inside you it does not matter; I also use it in my pond to get rid of nasty algae spread during hot summers. If it would be killing the virus when already infected I'd be using my TIG welder all day long just to be on the safe side- but th...

Put politics aside, this virus does not discriminate politically, racial, religious or age wise (whatever they are saying young people are also dying because of this). If there was ever a time to unite this might be the one, we as humans think we are invincible yet a creature that is roughly 1 800 0...

Re: The Great Virus/Toilet Paper Stampede & Attack

Now things are getting really strange in some towns close to the border. In one town there is a shop that is directly on the border so one part is The Netherlands, the other is on Belgian territory. You can enter the shop but you can not take anything which is located in the store on Belgian soil......

Pictures posted are btw not from in my town but from somewhere else at the border, haven't found pictures in the news from my town barricades. But the mayor insured on the news they are in place, I will have to trust him on that.

Ganglylamb please update us, how are you and your wife doing? We are still ok, dr. gave us the all clear in the sense that we are now again allowed outside to go shopping if we want. Not that we want we are always very aware of germs (mild case of mysophobia i guess) but now I am simply terrified t...

Re: The Great Virus/Toilet Paper Stampede & Attack

My wife went out for groceries last week; she came back with some food but also: 4 cases of red wine, 2 cases of white wine, 3 bottles of gin accompanied with loads of tonic and also 3 bottles of champagne. My reaction: "this is not food", she said: "If we're going out, we're going o...

Just stay as healthy as you can and try to not spread the virus or to catch it. I guess it's a good time to go on a ride. Since one would be isolated from others. Going for a ride, exactly what I did this afternoon -battle dress on and be outside for a change. Only thing open here during weekend is...

To keep you posted: haven't got around to get to the dealer with this. Today however I received a written letter from Honda about this stating they got my information from the DIV and it said that they would like to get my bike to the dealer to get it fixed because there is an official recall on thi...

Well, time to buy a manual and learn about your little scooter. They will be sad to see you go, but your wallet will be quite happy. Agreed! Also with such a nice forum as this, just browsing this forum, reading through all the how-to section - watching some nice videos such as those on youtube fro...

Re: Brake Pad Mileage

Had to change the front ones at 13,500 miles (3.5yr's+ riding) as I had been experiencing a 'scratching' noise once per rev for some weeks and thought it must be the pads (did not check just bought new ones - £12 for EBC ones delivered from Ebay / £20 the same ones collected from a Honda dealer). I...

Flooding map here Awesome, I will have a house by the beach by 2050... Then again from the looks of it I'll have to invest in a boat as I will be stuck on an island... On topic, today while riding to work I got severe sidewinds and had to leave the main road, which is very exposed to sidewinds, bec...

Over here the temperatures are quit warm for the time of the year but still - I like my heated gloves! I commute everyday 25km back and forth, unless there is heavy snow or ice which was not cleared by salt or other drivers (only happens maybe 2 times a year). As it is my only means of transportatio...

Re: Fuel - European laws - E10

Thank you all for the input. I did some more research and it seems the ethanol percentage of the 98 octane level fuel will not change and will remain at around 5%. So for now I will simply switch to that fuel even though it is a bit more expensive (around 0.17 €/l extra) - but even though I ride it ...

Fuel - European laws - E10

A lot has been written on this board about octane levels and bio fuel additives but New Year has marked a new era in Europe for bio-additives. So there are some guidelines from Europe that causes their member states to make sure there is at least 8.5% bio fuel (ethanol) mixed with the ordinary fuel ...

Welding! Took a course in evening class last year, this year the advanced course was fully booked, so I bought a tig welding machine and all the necessary other stuff. Already built my own aluminum welding cart, two ramps in alu for my brothers car to get in his garage easily. To keep costs down I b...

Btw Anyone know of a gps app that lets you only find back road trips? https://kurviger.de/en They also have an app - which I also use for hiking, even the smallest trails are on there (only experience with it is in Europe though). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.talent.kurviger&...

Re: Will the Price of Gasoline/Oil Products Rise?

US citizens pay health care costs.. I don't think Belgium does. We do pay health care but it is based on a social thing - everyone pays some and the more you earn the more you pay (which is basically trough taxes - my rate atm. is 45% of my gross income, of course only a small amount goes to health...

Re: Will the Price of Gasoline/Oil Products Rise?

Well, I filled my little PCX today and the price of fuel has gone up 25 cents per gallon overnight. I would say that the price of fuel is going to go up. It was almost a hardship to fill that big old tank...1.31 gallons. Even at $2.69/gal it was just about pocket change to fill my PCX (if $3.54 is ...
