Re: How to: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
I did my first check at 2000 miles and the valves were spot on. I waited until 4500 miles to check again and (after the fucking 2 hour plastic removal) the valves were still on. I started to think i might wait until maybe 15,000 to look at them again. fuel injected, water cooled....its all making se...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing
ok. its been 2 weeks now with the Dr Pulley 20x15 16g sliders. Overall,... liking them. gains include 70 mph downhills and flats. slight boost in moderate uphill climbs. on flat ground I can cruise 67 to 70 mph depending on wind gusts. this is fast enough for me. acceleration is smoother although I ...

dr. pulley 20x15 16g and mods thoughts
I am a pcx 150 owner and i went with dr pulley 20x15@16g. general thoughts: as your bike accelerates, your sliders move. in order to maintain torque your going to have to maintain the most efficient speed. the transmission is CVT right. continuously VARIABLE transmission. the key word here is variab...

Re: do they all do this?
Ha!! It's about time someone in this forum had this issue!!! Makes me feel better. I asked about "noise coming to a stop" two months ago and no one really knew. However, watching a lot of variator replacement or mod videos I heard the same noise. it's scary because in a car this sounds lik...

Re: PCX125 buzzing sound, very annoying
I have read about noise issues at low rpm's and also coming to a stop. I have watched alot of video's on varilator mods and have noticed a clanking sound when winding down after a rev. I have read this is caused buy the sliders. which makes sense. also there is a belt that transfers all that torque ...

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing
Sendler, they ask for two measurements for Dr Pulley. the book only give 19.5mm. what were the measurements of your stock sliders? stupid that the manual does not give all the dimensions and weight. did you buy the 20x15's?....thanks man....

Re: Am i the biggest wimp on the site
yea, I bought mine and parked it. I'll take out a dust cloth an ever so delicately polish and remove the dust. I don't dare ride it. It might get dirty and i'd much rather put that 4.00 dollar a gallon gas in my Humvee and drive for a mile........just jokin

Re: Round the World on a PCX
I can sympathize with your laurie issues. the rev limiter process is truly ignorant. It puts the rider in a position of constantly checking speed and taking your eyes of the road frequently. Here in the states, 65mph is just too slow and in many instances you have people on your ass. I hope that a (...

Re: anyone have engine knock when stopping suddenly?
I'm wondering too if pcx's in other countries have all the evap crap on them. Here in Dipshitville, California the pcx is loaded with all sorts of smog crap. I was blown away when i pulled all the plastic off to do the valves and spied all the hoses and canisters. I mean how much "smog" is...

Re: anyone have engine knock when stopping suddenly?
I think actually its the variator. I have been watching a lot of videos for the jcosta upgrades and you can hear the exact same noise at low rpm's. then i was reading that the variators, (stock ones) make clanking noises commonly. I feel much better. makes sense too because the weights are meant to ...

Re: For your consideration
actually its the rev limiter and the belt width. respectfully, your wrong. However, considering the revs are cut off at 9600 rpm, do you really want to push this 150cc any farther. Nope. speed increase would be with belt width or modifications to the variator. the rpm's must be lowered in order to o...

Re: How to: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
bought the book and did my first service at 1200 miles. man there are some paranoid pcx riders out there. this is a liquid cooled, rev limited motor and a honda. you could change the oil at every 7000 and your going to be ok. yes, the rev limit is 9,600 but these motors are rock solid. I waited and ...

Re: PCX Valve Adjustment
considering this is a liquid cooled motor with a rev limiter I just wasn't worried. I didn't waste the money bringing it to a dealer to have a service done, have them break all the plastic tabs and not tell me. I bought the service manual. After about 2 hours of removing plastic i finally got to the...
