Re: Forza NSS300 dipped headlights
Assuming I remember all my power and wire gauge calcs correctly, you're going from ~3A to 5A draw. Looks like max wire length for 18ga at 5A is about 8.5 feet. If Honda cheaped out and did 20ga then you only have 5.3 feet before you start having problems. All of that is for just one bulb on the wiri...

Re: Wear your helmets!
GF crashed yesterday and her jacket and boots saved her a lot of pain. Her denim clad knee wasn't so lucky. I hate that she's hurt at all but I'm very thankful I was insistent on a minimum of helmet, jacket, gloves and boots.

Re: Insurance says they're going to total the scoot
Mostly. However, it came down hard on the left floorboard and that transferred to the right side floorboard hard enough to break all the tabs on it and the right front plastics. Headlight's gone too. It's pretty much the same layout as the PCX. Undamaged are windscreen, windscreen cover, right rear ...

Re: Insurance says they're going to total the scoot
Well, looks like I'll be helping with a similar problem, the GF laid down her Silver Wing tonight. She was wearing most of her gear so just bruises and some rash. Like yours it was low speed. Only 3 body panels unscathed, but I got it started and rode it home after I got the GF home.

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?
Seafoam works wonders on bikes with old gas, especially if you can get most of it out. Is the PCX difficult to siphon?

Re: Insurance says they're going to total the scoot
I think I've seen them get up to 75 with a GY6 engine (generic 150) on youtube, but I don't know if I'd want to ride one either (although I said the same about scooters in general). Eiron - let me know if you need help with anything if you decide to fix it up or to help get the variator, etc off if y...

Re: Insurance says they're going to total the scoot
It's not automatically a salvage title in CO especially if it's paid off. Plus, even if it does get 'Salvaged' there's still things like a Ruckus swap to consider

Was there any frame damage? Sounds like you could possibly buy it back and get your own panels for it.

Re: Wear your helmets!
I finally found that thread... on another forum!
They had a couple of specific mentions like the HJC CL‑17 and also manufacturers like AFX and ICON.

Re: Wear your helmets!
The GF and I both ride in older version of this jacket in warm weather: https://www.amazon.com/Firstgear-Mesh-Tex-Jacket-Gender-Distinct/dp/B008QW8W4A/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1528929102&sr=8-10&keywords=firstgear+mesh+jacket No water protection, so we each keep a backpackable rain jacket...

Re: MiniMOTO World
I've spent many hours watching a couple Brits riding all over Canada and the US on a couple of bikes in the Cub family (I think they are C90s) with plans to ride all the way to the southern tip of South America. The places the Cub would go and the amount of abuse they withstood was amazing. If the n...

Re: MiniMOTO World
I'm interested in both, can't make up my mind. I slightly prefer the looks of the Monkey, but the 17" wheels on the Cub are definitely peaking my interest. I fear for my PCX if I picked up either bike.

Re: 2018 Scooter CanonBall has started
Lots of repeat competitors - which was a surprise given I share Mel46's "once in a lifetime" view of it. There's apparently a decent amount of dirt/unpaved road and some gnarly climbs and mountain passes too. I'd think this would favor the larger displacements and possibly the 3-wheelers. ...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?
I'm south Denver metro, so about 5600 feet. Similar screen, no top box at the moment and guessing Honda GN4 for oil since I let them do the 600 mile change. It's hilly east of me (my commute route) but I'm not a speed demon anymore (Kawi ZX6 and ZX11 took care of that itch years ago). I'm not overly...

Re: Hi everyone... NCY Variator kit?
I've been consistently over 100mpg on mine since I bought it but I would be willing to lose some of that to get the other benefits.

Re: Extra performance with large screen
I got a similar butt-dyno experience after adding a taller screen, but I couldn't definitively say it was faster.
