Re: Engine sounds rougher when accelerating from 0 to 60kmh

0-60 the engine is under much higher load. Once you get past that the engine is able to reach higher RPMs and feels light it smooths out.

Try experimenting with lighter weights or maybe upgrading your Variator if its that much of a concern. I'm sure your bike is fine if its been maintained properly.

Re: Frightened by Phillips. Grips with Fear

You can always use an impact screwdriver. The brake levels on a HOnda Ruckus are 10x harder than the ones on the PCX. Impact screw driver works like a charm. I personally had zero issues removing the ones on my PCX when I changed handle bars. Use a good quality screwdriver. Preferably one with a T-H...

Anyone that plans to ride above 50mph for long periods of time I HIGHLY recommend the bigger tire sizes. Without a doubt the best mod I did to my bike for comfort and ride security. So much more stable at speed.

Personally on these Bikes I think its not beneficial at all. Even less if you are not BB and serious headwork with some Decking for High compression.

Even on our Big-Bore Rucks with serious head work, Stock was always adequate.

Re: Performance Spark Plug

That's great info Springer1. Thanks. You are right, a cooler plug wouldnt fix my lean issue. Only more fuel would do that..

That's interesting to hear 2t oil made head temps go up but that does makes total sense. Same volume going into the chamber but less parts of gasoline.

I totally forgot I swapped to the iridium. Same one raito runs. You can see how lean its running from the white coat on it.. Just found the original plug before I changed to iridium. Stock.jpg Here is the iridium with maybe 1k miles. You can see how lean its running from the white coating on it. New...

Re: Quick Oil Question

I haven't got any 10w30 but I do have some 5w 40 that I use for the car, can i use that? I ride in the cold wet north of England. Thanks. Even less bc you live in cold climate. 40 is too thick. Granted it probably never gets into Operating temp... So maybe the 5w will compensate? ha ha ha Run whats...

Re: Performance Spark Plug

Suggestion: Don't waste money on plugs. Ya some might be better... but you're looking at maybe .1 to .2 of a horsepower. Just go with the factory stuff and be done with it. I guess I'm not so much looking at "Performance gains" more so optimal performance when you run intake and exhaust. ...

Re: Rear tire - rude surprise

Even if there is plenty of thread, the age of the tire is what matters. Chances are it was old stock and started to break down...

That's wild though. Glad it didn't cause a wreck.

Performance Spark Plug

I searched and couldn't find much on plugs for performance. What plug does everyone run. Have you experimented with a hotter or colder plug? If you run aftermarket intake/exhaust, do you see any plug issues. Its common knowledge that once you run intake/exhaust, you lean out the bike if you don't ge...

Re: Best Oil to use

Hi Guys: Thanks for the feedback. One of my maintenance manuals says "don't use automobile oil". However, Mobil 1 is accepted as one of the best. --Oldtimer79 Common misconception when it comes to scooters/motorcycles is that you need to run Motorcycle oil.. Due to the fact that we do not...

Re: Best Oil to use

Every 1,000 miles is ridiculously wasteful. Who cares eh? Other religions are available. It is kind of a waste if I put a lot of miles on my bike but I put less than 2k miles on my bike a year. ha ha ha Just gives me peace of mind given my bike constantly lives above 8500-red line every time I ride...

Re: Best Oil to use

If bacon fat and cooking oil are good lubricants, why does it plug our arteries? I must be missing something.... That's because human animals were not meant to run on oil, but on grass. ha ha ha. I have and always ran all my scooters on Mobile 1. 5w-20 changed every 1k miles like a religion. Im in ...
