Re: New Hybrid Honda PCX coming?

57 per cent of Scotland’s entire electricity needs." Nothing for nothing, but note that that says "electricity needs" not energy needs. So it doesn't count non-electric heating, transportation, agriculture power, etc. I wonder what % it would be of Scotland's entire "energy need...

My eyes aren't what they once were ..... is the crack horizontal, on the side just below the very top of the clamp - below where the plastic caps hide the holes were the mounting bolts go ?

How many miles do you expect out of your PCX? I figure mine will last longer than Maverick's (LOL -trying to be humorous) because I plan on checking my valves every so often - not the frequent USA interval that Honda says, but every 4k-5k miles whenever there's a rainy day and I have the afternoon ...

I carry a jump pack and replace every two years.
Which one did you decide to use - is there a particular amperage that should not be exceeded ? Thanks.

Re: New Hybrid Honda PCX coming?

I just don't want no stinking electric vehicles- LoL. Each to their own, if people want electric, then I'm glad they have options to get the choice they prefer. Seriously. But for me - I wanna engine - cause I wanna change oil and adjust valves and be able to fuss about stuff like that with friends....

Re: 2017 pcx versus 2015 pcx valve adjustment

First time doing the procedure you'll be needing a weekend for sure. The first time I did it I watched Homie's video first the evening before - and then on a Saturday did step by step with the laptop closely replaying the video - took me @5 hrs because I was very careful and methodical. I expect th...

Re: accident

ABS definitely, wider tyres not always. Contact patch size is determined by many more factors than just the width of the tyre. Stick a wider tyre on a standard rim and chances are you will actually reduce the size of the contact patch. Honda didn't arrive at the standard PCX tyre size by accident.....

Re: How to go over the highside...

I don't ride without boots and an armored jacket and pants. I had a riding pal die a horrible death after they couldn't stop the infections after a deer hit him sideways and knocked him off his bike into gravel on the shoulder of the road. He wore a plain denim jacket and jeans. They progressively k...

Re: Finally changed spark plug at 34,000km

In my opinion Honda specifies that a lot of unnecessary work be done on the bike; on one hand if people get it done that way they'll probably never have any issues but (again, in my opinion) if people look at these things intelligently -
How is a person like me supposed to do that ??

Re: How many miles do you expect out of your PCX?

After the engine died I was able to get ahold of a free Yamaha Riva 200 all the way in San Francisco. I replaced the engine, same top speed, and sold it after I bought a Honda Helix. LoL - that Helix is good for - what, 250,000 or some crazy high mileage ?? They constantly do well in the scoter can...

Re: Strange sound from the vario

I faced the same dilema. In the end I just bought the whole driven face assembly; when freight was factored in it only cost a few dollars more - came with the correct grease & brearings - and I didn't have to worry about trying to get the old bearings out (which, if it's had a heat issue due to...

The quoted article also says "Cruise power settings above 65%, and preferably in the 70% to 75% of rated power range, should be used to achieve a good engine break-in." That's not WOT..... Also, isn't that Lycoming engine equipped with a diameter & pitch propeller that prevents the eng...

I checked mine at 600 miles per spec, the intake needed adjustment. Will check them again at 2,500 miles per spec. Then I'm planning on going with their recommended interval in Europe of every 4,000 miles.

Just follow Homie's videos ...... not that bad of a job, turn on a radio, take your time and enjoy the project, get some baggies and save the removed fasteners for each body panel separately for organized reuse - and enjoy the afternoon as you do step at a time !! Not that bad at all, 2nd go around ...

Well, one week on and lost 4psi in the rear tyre - a brand new valve fitted too.
A cheap issue to rule out would be the valve stem, new or not. They cost next to nothing.

Re: 2018 Honda PCX Performance

Going back a few threads, the Vespa has smaller wheels and is lighter (as pointed out) so even with the same HP the engine will rev faster and spin those small wheels faster. I bet you have a little better top speed though on the PCX? Yes, the PCX has a bit more top end, but more importantly is a f...
