Re: Tranquility base with a need for speed

After I washed my PCX this afternoon I let it dry for a while and then took it for a ride out of town and up some back roads. Had the need for speed. . .but a kinder. . .gentler speed. ;) The evening critter stroll was just beginning. Got to see a deer, skunk, and raccoon. Gnats were abundant but wi...

Re: Tranquility base with a need for speed

I've still got my Grass Roots "Golden Grass" album. :D You live in a really great area for casual riding. Awesome. . .! It used to be like that around where I live but it's becoming more and more like the Hamptons. Busy, busy, busy, everybody is in a rush. It's the problem with being right...

Re: It's Raining......

...and it isn't even the hottest time of the year yet. So you are raining sweat? I remember my GA vacations in the days of yore well. Lake Oconee and Greenville and areas. The Magnolias have come and gone right? Boiled peanuts anyone? Some of those back roads have turned into regular highways with ...

Re: Coolant Level Confusion

Here is another pic showing the top of the radiator behind the cover. I know you can look at the level through the hole in the panel side but if you just want a quick look without getting to ground level it's an option. Also Homie did a video that is very helpful indeed. :geek: 100_5001a.jpg G1oOqcA...

Re: Coolant Level Confusion

If you look between the rear wheel and the passenger peg on the silencer side you can get a fairly good view of the level in the coolant reservoir. You don't have to take anything apart. I just took the picture shown below today after about a 5 mile jaunt to get lottery tickets and a view of the sho...

Re: I get bored very quickly if I don't have someplace to go

Whisky is out but I usually take paracetemol before I go out for a long ride. I forgot this time... I see . . .. Ouch. . .sorry. o_O You've got it sorted out then. Sometimes after a long ride I may have an Irish Coffee and take a nap. . .or a beer or two. Gives me time to reflect and kick back in a...

Re: Coolant Level Confusion

I’m not recommending this for others - but on all my vehicles ( pickup, car, and now PCX) when I change the oil, I also siphon out the coolant from the coolant reserve tank and then refill it with fresh. I figure doing so keeps the coolant fresh longer. I don’t flush the radiators, just keep doing ...

Re: I get bored very quickly if I don't have someplace to go

I went out on a ride a couple of days ago with my nephew. 250 miles on the big bike. Excellent fun at the time but I was knackered after about half an hour after the end of the ride. Stiff as a board. Getting old... That's a good day ride. No wonder you're sore. The spirit is willing but the realit...

Re: Nice lamps & new chairs!

Rain, scooter, Paris. As they used to say "Far out man!" Wow. . .. All my Paris pics are in slides. Spent a week there in April of 1970 on a High School trip. What you describe is totally awesome. Stayed at a Hotel on Rue Saint Honore near the Louvre. . .if memory serves me correct. I'm r...

Re: Wear your helmets!

The current world population is over 7.6 billion. That is a lot of competition for space on the roads. Wow. . .and it's only going to increase. :geek: Eventually more mass transit will be necessary. Sounds like there could be a future in rail again. More buses for local traffic? And here we a...

Good to hear from you and the PCX looks cool. . .. Is that a pumkin face on the car? :o

Any more riding videos done lately around PA? :D

Re: The waiting game begins

Americade just came and went but they'll have another one next year. If you live up in the Lake George area you know what I mean. Have a blast with your new scoot when you get it. There are lots of back roads in Upstate NY to ride. Watch out for deer though right? I especially liked Sullivan County....

Re: MiniMOTO World

They sure sold a lot of those Honda Super Cubs back in the day. Now that the Sym Symba 100 is discontinued I'm glad to see they are bringing it back. Don't think I'll be getting one but am looking forward to seeing the next version of the Forza on the dealer showroom if/when it shows up as a 2019. 8)

Re: Lights Went Dim on KLR 650

FWIW I found out a new stator for my KLR is over $400. Damn. Hope that's not going to be the problem. I doubt it has anything to do with the flywheel. Going to try to get into checking things out this weekend. 8)

Re: A boy and his Honda

The upright riding position is so much easier on the wrists. After I got rid of my Ninja 750 and bought my KLR years ago I was much happier with the riding position. It's a tall seat but once onboard it's comfy. 8)

Re: Wear your helmets!

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words. The helmet really saved you from being permanently disfigured. It's a testament to the adage "ATGATT" or "All the Gear All the Time". A reminder for us all. o_O I wondered if it could have been a deer also. Back in the 90's I was...
