Re: Compression test 90PSI???
How did you ever hit 78 mph?, My 2013 PCX150 would do 66 when brand new. Started to dip to 64 mph by 4,000 miles with some belt wear.. And will sometimes hit the rev limiter 72mph down hill with new belt, variator , and sliders. but more usually run out of power before hitting the rev limit at 68 mph.

Re: Yamaha NMax 155 with ABS
Here's another video with a comparo of both bikes. At least they are moving away from the radically stepped seat. taller riders could just about hit their knees on the SMax.

Re: Compression test 90PSI???
What is your current top speed? Is it lower than it used to be? By more than what normal belt wear would account for?

Re: Yamaha NMax 155 with ABS
Smart move for Yamaha. The SMax had more power and highway capable top speed than the PCX but the Honda is better in every other respect. I could easily feel the fuel in the high tank of the Smax sloshing the handling around in parking lots.

Re: Unexpected Weather Stories
I'm not very picky about when to ride but got into trouble this time when I left for home a half hour too late. I had to give up and turn back when my chin vent got clogged with ice causing terminal fogging inside the visor. . . https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12931267_9895279644...

Re: Compression test 90PSI???
What makes you think the power is less?
.
It is not a normal starter. It is an AC generator which is run as a starter when it is not generating. There is no way to apply 12v to it.

Re: Yamaha NMax 155 with ABS
Maybe the NMax will have some actual legroom whereas the SMax was very cramped. Is the fuel tank still sloshing around high up under the dash?

Take responsibility
I ride a lot of miles. I read a lot of Motorcycles forums. I watch a lot of motorcycle helmet cam videos. I read a lot of posts about crashes. I find that many of the wrecks I read about could have been avoided if the rider had done something differently. But many of the riders who do get wrecked te...

Re: Riding year-long and can't imagine it being the other wa
I should have left for home a half hour earlier. Freak April snow storm. I saw it coming on the radar but lingered mt goodbyes for too long. Made it 20 minutes out of 45 by wiping the snow off of my visor every 5 seconds but once my chin vent clogged up I was done because of fogging. I would hve nee...

Re: Lithium vs. Gel ??
Don't worry about the battery unless it starts giving you trouble. In 4-5 years? Then don't waste money on an overpriced Lithium battery. Sealed AGM batteries are nice because you never have to check the electrolyte level. But a cheap wet fill battery will work just fine.

Re: Hybrid honda
Slightly better fuel economy in stop and go traffic from the recovered energy when braking. And 5hp extra for a few minutes at a time to get up a hill or bomb through a short superhighway section.

Re: Hybrid honda
Well it obviously wouldn't be a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. You must be thinking battery. The latest battery technology costs about $0.75/ Wh retail and basically lasts forever in a hybrid because they are never operated anywhere near full or empty. I suppose it would be pretty easy to put a hub mot...

Probably nonsense. That would add $2-3,000US to the price of a PCX.

Re: How-To: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
Did my valve adjustment on the 2013 PCX150 yesterday. 19,000 miles/ 30,000 km. It was last done at 4,000 miles. The exhaust clearance was still right on but the intake was just shy of 0 clearance. The valve cover gasket was still in good shape so I reused it again. I also gapped the spark plug from ...
