I think the PCX is still more difficult as he didn't even bring up panel removal, I don't think he had to remove many. That 3 valve engine is cool even if it does make less power than the PCX ;) .

Re: Oil and Coolant Check

Checking top coolant reservoir doesn't tell the coolant level in the radiator. It's pointless. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk I think you might have a different idea of what the reservoir does. The cooling system is sealed to outside air. The radiator cap is there in order to relieve pressure...

Re: Gas tank fill up

I wouldn't. As you can see here: http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/honda/pcx150/2013 the average is 91mpg. It seems Gil and I are both suffering from below average results. Ever since i had the dealer do the 600 mile service, mileage and top speed have been suffering. The dealer hasn't touched my bi...

Re: Engine Siezed Up?

Here is a thought, with high RPM riding there will be some blowby of oil into the intake. With time oil gets burned by the engine, leading to an empty crankcase. I check my oil more often when I ride at top speed for long durations. I have also topped up the oil in my scoot. the first time oil barel...

Re: Engine Siezed Up?

Check your drive belt. I remember someone on here had one break and stopped the crank from turning. They thought the motor locked up.   Ok you people are all over the place now. The OP reports zero oil in the crankcase, not too much or some oil... but none! We must take that as the ...

Re: Engine Siezed Up?

Could it be that the engine was overfilled with oil? Timing chain tensioner, might of gone bad.

You could always just replace the engine on your PCX. There are a couple on ebay. It shouldn't be too hard.

Re: Brand new pcx

My scoot has the same thing on pretty much all welding spots. It's like the paint didn't stick to wheal and some of the paint has chipped off. Some light rust on the exposed metal now. I also found it disappointing as I haven't seen that on any of my other scoots or bikes.

Re: Tire pressure questions

You can also up the pressure higher than recommended. I have find out that 38psi on my rear IRC tire makes for a nicer ride. Just be aware that doing that for a light rider changes a few things; - It reduces rolling resistance due to smaller contact patch so you'll theoretically get better economy ...

Re: Tire pressure questions

Also, did you use your tire gauge when you filled up your rear tire? Those gas station pumps don't work right sometimes. You could also have a puncture. Listen for air leaks.

Re: Tire pressure questions

The pressure rating in the tire is the maximum the tire can take. The rating in the scoot is the recommended pressure by honda. Also don't forget to add air when the tires are cold. Tire pressure will go up about 4psi from cold to hot. You can also up the pressure higher than recommended. I have fin...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse

Sounds like you've got it sorted. I usually put my helmet, gloves and jacket under the seat. I think so. I place my jacket under the seat, my helmet in the trunk along with the motorcycle boots and gloves. My jacket is kind of bulky and I have a full face helmet. Its great leaving everything in the...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse

I found a place to stash my air pump. First, I took my pump apart. I then got a big enough ziplock to put the pump in and stashed in in the front fairing of the scoot. Pictures might be a better description. I'll be wrapping the pump in a sheet of foam so that it won't rip through the ziplock bag. ...

Re: 600 miles service check up

Take the bike at 600 to your Yamaha friend. Have him change the oil in the rear end and change the crankcase oil. Together they take less than 2 quarts of oil. About 12 bucks max. Then his labor of 50-75 or so.Then go see him every year and have him look over the bike. The warranty is only a year a...

Re: 600 miles service check up

Don't stress about the warranty, you never know if it will come in handy. Or it could be like the washing machine warranty that expires the day before it breaks, lol. I would suggest you take it to your trusted mechanic and have him document the service. Get it done and have piece of mind. The warra...

Re: Ignition panel sticker?

Here's something that might help. It's more than just the sticker, it's the whole keyswitch assembly. But, it is reasonably priced. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Motorcycle-Ignition-Switch-Oil-Fuel-Tank-Controller-Seat-Lock-Key-Set-for-Honda-PCX125-PCX150-14/32806862486.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0...

Welcome to the "club" :). Feel free to ask questions relating to riding a honda PCX, as there are many different (riding condition) types of PCX riders here. My first ride was a scooter, my third one was a "real" motorcycle and now i'm back to a scooter. Scooters is where it's at...

Re: how long do my tires have once the tread is gone?

Get a buddy and mount them yourself, all you need is tools and some manhandling. I changed my rear tire with the help of a buddy, saved myself $20 dollars. Look for the cheaper tires, the OEM's are quite cheap.

Re: Gas tank fill up

Gil, your fully says average of 79.2 mpg?? Gees... if anything I would expect it closer to the advertised 100 mpg. I have gotten as high as 114 mpg and as low as 96 mpg, but 79 mpg means to me that you jump off of the line wot, then you stay that way until you reach the next light. The PCX runs nic...
