Re: Electric supercharger install
Interesting, 240 watts is a lot for the electrical system of the PCX. Are you going to add an extra battery and only use it for a few seconds at a time? The ones made for auto manufacturers usually run on 24 or 48 volts. One issue that you might run into is that the blower might be too big for the 1...

Re: Idle switch not working
@alx123 I also like the idle stop feature, not offered in the USA sadly. I also use the engine stop switch often. When arriving at my destination, I use the switch to shut down the engine and coast to a stop. So even with frequent use it might be faulty. I should probably open it up too, to clean it...

Re: Idle switch not working
alx123 I have had issues with the equivalent switch on US model PCX. While the switch doesn't have the same function, it has malfunctioned for me in the past. The switch here is red and will shut off the engine. At one point my scooter wouldn't start, so I flicked the switch a few times and that see...

That's great, for those higher speeds a windscreen makes a big difference. Do share your impressions of the windshield once you install it.

Re: Steering head stock
My PCX started making a knocking sound when coming to a stop at about 20,000 miles. The noise only got louder and happened more often. The bearings were good though, no binding like gn2 mentioned. After doing it the hard way of removing all the plastics and the handlebars to get to the top nut, I th...

Re: Acceleration test
Changed the weights to 11g, when I open the cvt to see if the variator was moving the belt all the way out. It looks like the MFR kit was fully closed, but wasn't pushing the belt all the way out, bummer. With the 11 gram weights the top speed was now 66 mph, I think the same as before with the exce...

Re: Adjustable Levers?
Why do people install these? Do they have less play than the OEM ones? Personally, the feel is better. The levers are shorter and adjustable and the throw/pull just seems stronger. Play is better similar to stock. Number 1 reason, they just look better. OK, I might just get a set then. I tend to pu...

Re: Acceleration test
My top speed with the NCY and DR.pulley 13g weights before was ~71 MPH. I didn't use the Dr. Pulley weights because they looked worn out, but I might just try them out again.

Re: Acceleration test
I read your post too late and didn't do a before and after. I was running the OEM variator with the NCY outer face. The NCY variator inner bore went out of spec, allowing for too much play that resulted in slugish acceleration due to binding of the variator with the boss. My top speed now is 64 MPH....

Re: questions from a soon-to-be rider
Vito I like how you explained the top speed of this scooter and what uses it's good for. " I find that I can get up to about 64 mph, but a bit slower if there is any incline at all in the road. I feel very comfortable taking it on roads with a 55 mph posted speed, but that is about the limit as...

Same here, of all the two wheeler that i have owned, I like the Honda PCX the best. The highest CC has been 250 cc, most have been scooters though.

Re: Parts question
I'm with Mel46 and gn2, but do upload a video of the sound when you do the test that Mel46 suggested.
I have replaced those bearing before, they sound like an old blender. I bought the whole clutch pulley part from Honda. It was cheap enough.

"My plan now is to either buy a new OEM one or try to swap the bearings between these two and use my old OEM instead."
You could also just buy the OEM bearings, they are quite cheap.

Re: Installed aftermarket Keyless ignition. Result, not bad.
Thanks for the "good luck" and "if you are happy" comments. I wanted key-less as a luxury accessory. Now while the simplicity and reliability of a mechanical key can't be denied, this post wasn't to argue for or against the electronic ignition. I simply wanted to share that I ins...
