Re: US Exhaust options PCX150

it means the muffler is not welded to a piece of metal, then the piece of metal is hung and secure with a bolt into the swingarm, but it's actually hold up by a bracket, which is then hung and secure to the swingarm.

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Great work. By the way, do you happen to have installed a gear ratio reduction set either from Kitaco (51 teeth) or Yuminashi (15/45 teeth) Vlad? My friend installed one today with a performance vario and he noticed it kind of "howl" a little, I told him it's breaking in and it should be f...

Re: US Exhaust options PCX150

The Corsa GP was designed to be a slip on with multiple pipe for many bikes. Where I'm from the PCX guys mostly use Leovince Granturismo or the old 4Road Scoot (which is awesome), the Malossi, the IXIL, or the Takegawa silent sport exhaust, sounds like stock but a bit louder. For me, hanging exhaust...

That's stock valve clearance. Did you solve the unmatched exhaust header yet?

Re: US Exhaust options PCX150

It's a hanging exhaust. I've never seen it on a PCX in my country, but I've seen it on a lot of bikes and yes they do shake a little, even if it's a full system, but I guess it's fine because you can never have the tightness of metal like the Granturismo with a hanging exhaust. It does not shake lik...

Re: US Exhaust options PCX150

Welcome to the forum. You can try the Leovince Granturismo, which looks awesome and very aggressive while keeping an elegant style. The sound is nothing to write home about, I've heard it in real life, not very bassy, which in my taste is a must for exhaust. Here's a picture: pcx-2014-gan-leovince-g...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

The head can only get that hot so it's understandable. More than 120 degrees C and you lose your coolant and bent the head. Permatex does have higher temp but it's for exhaust. I think it can endure 540 degrees C. Only it's not copper spray and it's for sealing holes in your exhaust. I used to have ...

Project V27-164

Hi. I have got myself a pretty sweet deal. A guy sells his PCX 1st gen and his performance parts, which are cheap. They look about 80% new, but that's the look. Everything else works fine. I have been dreaming about this project for a long time, meeting this guy helps me finish it a lot sooner. I co...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

We use this one. The link is a vietnamese shop but you get the idea, there's an image also. If you know what you're doing it's a great update, but definitely will have to do some CNC mod to get it on there. http://www.shopp1.com/prodetail-195-226-BOM-NUOC-DIEN-BOSCH---MADE-IN-GERMANY.html I figure i...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

The valve clearance for PCX/Click 125i is 0.1mm IN and 0.24 EX. way more than what Yuminashi suggested. WAY more. double for IN and triple for EX. I guess I'll trust Honda on this, but if anything goes wrong, I'll change it to what Reggy suggested. When I have everything I need, I'll make a new post...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Stock cam clearance is in the PCX manual I think. I don't have that on hands. Have to search a little. My mech said it's about 0.1mm for IN. But let's trust Honda. I'll look into the electric pump idea. I can find a bosch pump pretty easily in VN. For drag racing that's a must. It can put more stres...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

I also heard about switching to an electric coolant pump from Bosch. My friends who race the Sniper MX King 150 from Yamaha do this all the time, the mechanical pump on our Honda engine is pretty much the same, which uses the camshaft to turn the pump if I'm correct. Switching to an electric pump fr...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Then I'll try to find some copper spray or just rely on my mech, his 35 years of experience tells me I can trust this guy :P I'm concerned about both IN and EX. Personally, I think 0.05mm and 0.08mm is too small. But 0.05mm and 0.08mm is what Reggy, the guy who makes the stuff recommends so I guess ...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Thank you for your concerns. I'll be sure to install that in 2 weeks or so, the budget is kinda tight after getting all 7 of my dogs vaccinated  In the mean time, I hope I won't run into anything dangerous, since I don't ride at 110km/h basically because there's no such road in Vietnam that all...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Yeah it's just a crazy idea. I have everything I need for my engine rebuild now. Only missing some connectors and wire loom from Yuminashi, I found a guy who bought a complete set from Yuminashi and then sell his bike with only 6000km on the set, so saved some serious money there. 1/ 31mm Throttle b...

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

Doing a conversion from the original PCX head to esp head sounds painful. Hope you find a solution fast because I can't wait to hear about the results. IMHO the CR is obviously lower than the previous setup. I think about stock 11? Since the 150 esp head drop it a little and the Takegawa setup is it...

The Thais can drag race ANYTHING. If it has wheels and a motor, it's "drageable".

Re: PGM-FI Controller for first generation PCX150 (KF12)

The Yuminashi/APITech seems too good to be be true here. 3 areas of fuel adjusting. Universal ignition angle adjusting. All that with a narrowband O2 sensor and the chance the stock ECM will fight back to get control. I'll try to get one and test the stability of it. the ECM / ECU will not take con...
