Now that I think about it more, the face shield is well-protected from minor damage, as is the visor, so I probably won't need to replace any of them soon. I suppose this is a perfect example of "you can pay now or you can pay later" (Which BTW, was my experience with several cheap helmet...

3-4 shots of bourbon will fix it.. if not, you have a problem ! No it won't, and the problem would be a migraine. If the handlebars wiggle much without moving the front wheel,
there's internal damage along the steering column.

Don't buy the cheapest of the cheap, but neither do you need a £300-500 helmet for most journeys whereby a sub £100 will do just as well. The main advantage of more expensive helmets is slightly more comfort and better sound-proofing which is needed for fast and long journeys - not really what a PC...
