Re: Pcx 150

Another option, consider different routes that will keep you off highways. The PCX will do 60+ mph. I've clocked the top speed of mine at 67 with a GPS, but it's a 2013, mostly stock. From what I understand, a 2015 isn't quite as fast. As you've discovered, riding in heavy traffic with trucks isn't ...

Re: Back to school

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to it. I have a Bachelor's degree, but I don't really use it.

Anyway, I wasn't sure I was going to go through with it until I walked into the workshop and it felt like I'd come home.

Re: miles

I've had the scoot five weeks today. It's got 1900+. That hurts my butt just thinking about it Honkyman... heheh, well, I've certainly had my share of butt-hurt...from riding scooters that is. Funny thing about it, the seat on the PCX is a fair sight more comfortable than that of my old scoot. But,...

Back to school

I've bitten the bullet...after years of toying with the idea, and coaxing by friends and relatives...I'm going back to school...Just got accepted at a local Tech school for bike mechanic certification. 9 month program...then I'll have a baby...well no...I won't...

Re: smell of burning rubber

Were you holding the front brake and the throttle at the same time, thus spinning the rear tire? That's a sure way to get a burned rubber smell. :D Your belt is still new. There might be a bit of smell as the belt breaks in and any imperfections on the edges burn away. I had a bit of that after inst...

Re: Versatility.

Yep. Jags take premium fuel. Scooter takes low octane. Pretty well a given that the scoot will be far cheaper to run in the long haul. Plus, I can do a lot of they scoot's maintenance myself, while the jag presents difficulties for maintenance in a driveway. No they dont have to have premium fuel. ...

Re: Riding tips for wet riding

Actually more of a trail riding technique where you are standing on a dual sport bike and forcing it around tight corners by digging your knee into the outside of the tank to lean only the bike. . This has bothing to do with normal street riding on a motorcycle where shifting your weight to the ins...

Re: miles

Dang! 1900+ miles in five weeks. I don't that kind of mileage on the four vehicles (three bikes below plus a car) I use on a (semi-)regular basis, combined! (I typically spend more time each day walking or bicycling than I do driving.) Well, that does include a 800+ mile round trip from PA to Massa...

Re: miles

I've had the scoot five weeks today. It's got 1900+ on the clock. My kymco had nearly 25,000 miles on it when I sold it. My Honda Sabre had over 70,000 miles on it not sure how far over since the speedo was broken for about a year....though that is an entirely different animal. back to the scoots, i...

Riding a scooter is more fun than driving a car...even if it is a Jag When I bought my PCX I had a Jag, the money saved on fuel paid for the PCX and then some. Yep. Jags take premium fuel. Scooter takes low octane. Pretty well a given that the scoot will be far cheaper to run in the long haul. Plus...

I went to the Post Office this morning to mail something and picking up my sister-in-law. She fit under my seat. Her ashes I mean. She use to like to come up to New Hampshire to ride a old dirt bike I had, but never made it up here to try my scooter. Versatility! a tad morbid...But a scooter Hearse...

Re: First Time Scooter rider using way too much oil

Hi Honkerman Yes I changed the oil right on 1000km as it was already right down near the bottom of the stick. In lieu of top up I decided to change the oil for a different type.....doesn't seem to make any difference on the consumption rate. I was just wondering if there were any known issues with ...

Ram X-Grip mount is fantastic. Been using mine for a few weeks now. Not a slip, even on an over 600 mile round trip from PA to Massachusetts and back.

Re: First Time Scooter rider using way too much oil

I have stated this to be a similar experience on my 2015 PCX just not to such calculation. Insisting everyone check oil every 1000 miles because the GY6 IMO has proven to me to burn off oil to the bottom of the stick long before I'm thinking to change it so I too just add oil until its mid stick an...
