Re: High Speed Miss at 65mph
To "You you": the manual shows the port located left of the battery's positive terminal. Now, then. The O.P. WAS able to travel at 65 mph before this problem began. It is possible he's hitting the rev-limiter, but, it's also possible there's another problem(s). We're all just guessing at t...

Re: running great - then engine just died -
The short-cranking bothers me. Mine appears to keep cranking if I hold the button down (also 2013). Does the fuel pump cycle on when you key it up? You'll need to start with the basics: Spark? fuel? compression? Anything looking obviously out of place? Without being able to hook a scanner up you can...

Re: High Speed Miss at 65mph
I see these things have a diagnostic jack. They apparently have OBD, as well. Has anyone here ever hooked up a scanner to a PCX? To the OP: Does the MIL (check engine) light come on and/or blink when the miss happens? The manual describes a procedure how to read any stored codes by blinking the MIL....

Re: Coolant for PCX 125
Inquire/read whether it is "Silicate Free" coolant and if it will mix with any type of coolant. If so, you are good to go. Look around for where you might be leaking as well (in case it wasn't a bad prep).

Re: High Speed Miss at 65mph
Yes, you're describing fuel starvation. Sounds like it's time for a pump or at least a look at a possible constriction in the fuel supply line(s). I've experienced that on two cars, though they were clogs in the filters back then.

Re: Gas to put in my PCX 150
The winter/summer fuel reformulation is for U.S. environmental regs that dictate "reduced vapor pressure" (for reduced evaporative emissions) fuel for warm weather. It costs more to make (and so to buy). In winter fuel doesn't evaporate as easily due to cold temps. Octane #'s remain the sa...

Re: Gas to put in my PCX 150
Ok, I filled my bike with 91 octane and before I left the pump I heard a high pitched squeal, almost like a cry, from my wallet. I can't be sure but I think I heard that every time you fill your tank with high octane fuel an angel cries. Hmmm...maybe that was the angel and not my wallet?? Hi Mel, c...

Re: Gas to put in my PCX 150
Okay. YES you may use anything from 86 octane on up in your PCX. NO, there will be no consequences other than too much money spent on high-octane fuel you don't need. No carbon or other abnormal residue, no valve damage, no extra heat, nothing other than overspending on fuel. I work in powertrain en...

I agree that may be the case in the UK, but not here in the states. Recalls are the law.

Re: Bleeding the brake lines on a 2015 PCX..
You should be good bleeding from the upper nipple on the caliper. I turn the fork to the left on level ground, on the center stand to do this job. It gets the reservoir high and level. I also have a small piece of molded rubbr hose that fits over the nipple to control the mess. Leave the lower nippl...

I live in Michigan and I change oil seasonally, usually at the end of the season before storage.

Re: 7500 Mile Maintenance
Recalls they have to do in any case. As far as repairs under their warranty, as long as it's a defect(s) in material or workmanship and not something you did, I see no reason for the dealer's refusal to honor the warranty. Who changes the oil should have no bearing on what plastic parts fail elsewhe...

Re: 7500 Mile Maintenance
So, two hours is $190. Two tires and a quart oil were $400? Must be REALLY nice tires and fantastic oil. I'm in the WRONG business.

Re: 7500 Mile Maintenance
Yeah, that sounds very high. Were those the only parts? What else was done? Decent tires would run about $110-$120/pair. A quart of oil, $3-$5. What's their hourly, close to $200? Sounds like the Porsche dealer.

Re: Fork oil checking
Okay, a cursory search yields they use 10W up to 20W fork oil. Heavier oil damps harder, lighter will damp less. If the oil weight is the cause of your hard-hitting, go with the 10W and see how it works for you. Here's a thread discussing the Forza fork: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&...

Likely be easier and wiser to look up what's supposed to have and how much. Then just change it and know where you're at.

Re: I just installed my new seat from Bikerzbits yesterday,
What Glen said, pretty much. At 5' 8" I just needed that couple inches rearward that put me into the 'hump" on my '13. It appears the specs these seats are based on come from the average Asian (small-frame) style of human. That seat DOES look real nice but.... Still made for an Asian-size ...

Funny you bring that up. A good friend of mine in the business recommends the Yamaha "Bolt". I'm not much on the name but it DOES look interesting if I ever go back to the big(ger) bike experience.
