Disc lock alarm recommendations ??
Hi, Just wondered if anyone had any disc lock alarm recommendations ? I'd quite like to get one (either that or a padlock with built in alarm) but some of the reviews are putting me off as they seem to have sensitivity issues. Some alarms seem to go off over next to nothing and as I don't especially...

First impressions
Picked up my PCX 125 yesterday afternoon, took it for a spin around the town and then my short commute this morning. Positives: The ride quality is very smooth, what a difference from my old 50cc. The bigger wheels are a real benefit and seem to soak up the defects on our crappy roads with ease. The...

Re: Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
It's here !!!! Picked up my PCX from the Edinburgh Honda dealer this afternoon. They take a photo of each new owner for their Facebook page so here is my mugshot... http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii608/drzoom11/Honda%20PCX%20125/BE18AC2E-9540-408F-B977-801F042F54A5_zpsjllk13xg.jpg Took the bike...

Re: Best cosmetic improvement...
Thanks for a really interesting post Kenno. I take your point about learning gears, my only issue is it's going to cost me a fair amount of money in extra lessons when I wouldn't be remotely interested in getting a geared bike anyway. I also understand the lure of something more powerful in the futu...

Re: Best cosmetic improvement...
Now thats really interesting. If you have to learn on a geared bike for your A2 then I wouldn't bother with that, no wonder it costs a fortune in training. Tried gears once on an earlier CBT but packed it in after an hour and went back to a scoot. A 125 is fast enough for me and if I can do my A1 on...

Very smart indeed, might pinch a few of those ideas myself.

Re: Tires and Grip PCX 125
We have a lot of cobbled streets in Edinburgh too, uncomfortable in the dry but can be lethal in the wet if you're not very careful. Luckily I've never had an accident on them but I slways slow right down snd take corners very gently. Can't comment on the quality of the PCX tyres as I haven't taken ...

Re: Tinted Visors
I have experimented with tinted visors but recently bought a Shox helmet that has a built in sun visor you can lower and raise as required. The sun never stays out long in Scotland so it pays to be adaptable.

Re: AA Cover
I've just put a deposit down on a second hand PCX first registered in Nov 2014. I presume the AA cover transfers to me along with the remainder of the warranty ??

Re: Showing up on PCX to new place of employment
Been riding scooters to work on and off for years. Get the mickey taken out of me by collegues but it's good natured and I couldn't really care less anyway. Nothing wrong with being different.

And it must be a restricted 50cc. I think the top speed is supposed to be 28mph.

Re: Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
I've been riding a moped for the last year on my car license (no CBT or L Plates). Enjoyed it, but the lack of speed and journey potential got to me in the end. Two Wheels are selling me the PCX, but they had no CBT bookings available until early September. I hadn't thought of Saltire, didn't know t...

Re: Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
I'm amazed too. There are only two training centers in Edinburgh. One is linked to the Honda dealership where I bought the scooter but they were booked up until early September. This other company seem to have a chaotic idea of customer service. Like I said I'll give them until tomorrow morning then...

Re: Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
I actually sent an email to the UK Transport Secretary yesterday complaining about the absurdity of the CBT situation. I would imagine it will be quickly deleted but it made me feel slightly better :-) The main motorcycle trainers in Edinburgh are proving a nightmare to deal with. They sent me a lis...

Re: Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
Thanks everyone. Got nowhere arranging the CBT today. Now looks like w/c 17th August if I'm lucky. It's a piece of nonsense the whole thing. I've had a car license for 25 years and completed 3 CBT's in the past yet still have to take this again. It is a money making exercise pure and simple. I heard...

Hello all - Deposit paid on PCX 125
Morning everyone, Delighted to find a dedicated forum for the PCX and looking forward to reading about all your experiences. I live in Scotland and have just traded in my wee 50cc Sym as part payment on a PCX 125. I used scooters constantly for commuting between Fife and Edinburgh from 2003-2007, bu...
