Did that once myself, very irritating to say the least. Had to get a bus home in my riding gear, pick up a spare key and go back !
I now keep an extra bike key with my house bunch just in case...

Re: Footplates...
Thanks all. Been looking for footplates for a while but the extortionate price of the genuine Honda ones ruled them out. The Japanese and Thai PCX supply sites were also expensive when you factored in postage so I ended up on the Chinese eBay style site Aliexpress. The ones I bought cost £36.45 deli...

Always liked footplates on my various scoots over the years. Finally found some inexpensive ones for the PCX... http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii608/drzoom11/Honda%20PCX%20125/EB2E8A0D-4489-44FA-8C2A-71E6B8D53369_zpscyw6pyfv.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii608/drzoom11/Honda%20PCX%201...

Sorry to hear about that. I missed seeing the video but it obviously wasn't any fault of yours. Hope you get things sorted quickly and are back out there soon.

Re: MICHELIN City Grip Tires
One of the things that almost put me off getting a PCX were some bad reviews of the stock tyres.
I live in Scotland, ride in all weathers (barring ice and snow) and over many different road surfaces including cobbled streets. Never had an issue with the stock tyres, they do the job fine.

Re: Helmet
LS2 flip front in Hi-Vis yellow. Good build quality at a decent price, also has built in sun visor and pinlock fittings. Works well and covers me for all riding conditions.

Re: New Member from the UK - Looking to Buy, A
Welcome to PCX-ing in the UK. I ride my PCX throughout the year too. I currently have an LS2 flip front helmet which seems good quality without breaking the bank. I've also got a Caberg which is fine and had AGV in the past which are more expensive but great quality helmets. I've had a lot of Buffal...

Re: How to get my white PCX to shine!
I use Williams Waterless Wash & Wax. It's handy as I live in a flat so do not have ready access to a water supply at ground level. You simply spray the Williams on, wipe it off along with any dirt etc and then buff to a shine using a microfibre cloth. It encapsulates dirt particles so they don't...

Scottish Borders to Edinburgh ride
Went down yesterday to visit my Sister who lives in the picturesque village of Stow in the Scottish Borders. Filmed the run back home to Edinburgh. The city is in the midst of the annual Festival frenzy just now.

Re: It's gone
My PCX is secured at home with Gold Standard chains and a good quality disc lock. I really sympathise with your loss, had a scoot pinched off me a couple of years ago. The depressing thing is it was stolen by kids, ridden a couple of miles and burnt out, moronic. To be fair the police caught the thi...

Re: Passed my test at last
Congratulations, must get around to it myself sometime. Who did you go with in Edinburgh ? I've always done my CBT's up in Dunfermline as it's much cheaper, but that might not be practical for lessons & tests etc.

Re: Are You (or have you been) a Piaggio/Vespa Owner?
Bought a brand new Piaggio B125 from a local dealer a good few years ago now. I only had it a month. The engine had a habit of stalling when you pulled away from junctions etc which was extremely dangerous. It went back to the dealer on two occasions but they couldn't seem to sort it. Final straw wa...

Re: New battery recommendations (UK)
The bike is still (just) under warranty.
The only electrical accessory I have attached is a simple fob activated alarm but to be honest I hardly ever use it.
I think I'm going to just take the dealer route, someone else also pointed out that the price is good for that quality of battery.

Re: New battery recommendations (UK)
Came home this afternoon and no change in the Oximate indicator, the green "fully charged" light is barely glowing. I'm guessing the battery is not in ideal condition. Spoke to my dealer and they are quoting £50 for a new battery. Alternatively there is an eBay cheapo for £23: https://www....

The green light on the Oximate was glowing faintly this morning. Just leaving the battery on the charger all day today, hopefully it will be good to put back in the bike tonight.

New battery recommendations (UK)
Just back home from a couple of weeks away. Jumped on my PCX for the short commute to work this morning and it wouldn't start. The dash was coming on but flickering, the electric start wouldn't work. To be honest I've noticed a slight flicker in the dash over the last month and had been meaning to s...

Re: Opinions please???
I live in Scotland, my PCX has done around 2k miles, I ride all year around and it is parked outside. My brakes are fine and there is no signs of rust in the handlebar area. I'm actually really impressed how well the scoot has stood up to our winter. I spray all the metal parts with ACF50 and use a ...

Re: I dropped my '15 PCX
Unless anything is badly broken I'd be inclined to just leave it, maybe touch up the scratches with some matching paint. The odd battle scar doesn't bother me too much and can make the bike less attractive to thieves. I ride all year but keep a close eye on the daily weather forecast during winter. ...
