Re: Doesn't start

Do you people in the UK call a bump start a jump start? o_O I miss my old Infiniti G20. After losing 2 starters, I just bump-started it everywhere I went. Aside from the starter being flaky, that car was bulletproof and very nice. I miss those heated seats in the winter... No we have jump start and...

Re: what trousers do you wear?

I got a Thermoscud but don't like it vcery much, I took it off again prefering to wear either bike trousers or ski trousers. I guess that's because I'm used to bigger bikes and don't like the feeling of my legs being 'enclosed', Might sell the Thermoscud need to decide on that soon though.

Re: The Youtube thread

That to me is a classic example of someone making no allowances for the amount of room coaches need to get round those sort of bends. Don't get me wrong here, but I drive coaches and have driven in the Alps region. That biker had more than enough time to react and slow down to let the coach come up....

Re: Came off

Yep, with time you learn to scan the road surface for hazards, to look and plan ahead so that you don't have to brake hard and if so, to do emergency stops giving time for the weight to switch. Oil on wet road is sod's law though... I ordered a new black PCX today but don't want to hijack this thre...

Re: Came off

Not Good! Glad you came off relatively lightly in terms of injury, bike cane be fixed easily, bodies............................... Reasons you came off could be a variety of circumstances in the wet, try to avoid braking in a bend wet or dry. It's possible there was a patch of oil there, maybe a pi...

Re: invisible bike helmet

Looks like it's based on a similar principle of the 3 day event horse riders wear, except theirs is a jacket that inflates around their back and necks. Saw these in action on TV during the Olympics You know you can now buy a motorbike jacket with the same technology Yes Only thing is you have to re...

Re: Mouldy gloves.

I bought a pair of ski trousers for a few quid in a sale, they are waterproof and comfortable. I wear them over my work trousers easily. I got them from mountain warehouse, always worth having a look in there for water proof trousers,

Go with what you feel happiest and most comfortable with. I would say for London traffic that speed is not an issue (I have driven coaches into London) Having said that the PCX is no slouch

Re: 6 month service intervals?

Hello everybody! I am a proud owner of a PCX 125 which is due its first birthday soon. I has the bike serviced at a Honda dealership at 600 miles which worked out to be around the six month mark. I use the bike for my short commute to work so I am only covering around 1200 miles pa. The dealership ...

Re: Thinking of buying a PCX, please help

Fuel economy on mine seems to have leveled out at about 112 - 115 mpg, my commute one way is about 3.5 miles. I have never spent much more than £6 on a fill up from Tescos

Re: Thinking of buying a PCX, please help

Hello and welcome to this forum. You will save on petrol cost, but as others have said you need to factor in the insurance and tax as well, servicing as mentioned above unless you can do it yourself. If you have an urban commute your commute time will get quicker as you get used to filtering (with c...

Re: Front Brake Failure - Temporary

Does it? Tbh I've never noticed and I generally coast to a stop if I can to save fuel I'll check it out this afternoon. I've been out on all three scooters and I can't feel the clutch disengage whilst moving at all They all do it just as you stop[/quote] It's barely perceptible, but it does happen,...

Multiply the figure (US $ one) by ten then add say another couple hundred and you might be close to UK price for the above work o_O o_O
