Re: a Bikers worst enemy..
With regards to helmets. At the end of the day what fits one person won't fit another!! I have a Shoei shaped head. I have tried other makes but either could get them on over my hearing aids, or they were just plain uncomfortable. Having said that I have found the NS2 lids bearable (and cheaper) so ...

Re: a Bikers worst enemy..
Glad you were not seriously hurt. Replace that helmet ASAP now, It's done it's job and saved you from head injuries. The foam would have compresed and doesn't expand again so if the lid was dropped it will probably split!!

Re: First oil change, what oil to use question
MB = Motor Bike perhaps, so any oil in Motor Bike section is how I would interpret that.ericpcx wrote:I also see that they specify MB oil for a refill, went to look at motorcycle oils this weekend and could not find oil with "MB" specification

Re: Braking on throttle roll back?
That was the issue with me, I wasn't hitting the brake lever at all, just rolling off the throttle. Good fun as has been said in the twisties though!!TC3 wrote:Yep goes without saying you should still hit the. Rake lever to warn those behind you that you are slowing down.

Re: Braking on throttle roll back?
I frequently get told off by following riders to 'dab' my brakes to warn them that I'm slowing down!! Sounds to me like they're following far too close and not reading the road ahead. Tell em to f. off and get some lessons in roadcraft. No these are advanced riders like me, the Deauville has phenom...

Welcome to the forum
Only time I had issue with starting, was when I first had the PCX and forgot to pull the brake lever in

Re: Braking on throttle roll back?
Yes the PCX does have a bit of engine braking when rolling off the throttle, doesn't bother me because my Deau which is a V twin has excellent engine braking, and I frequently get told off by following riders to 'dab' my brakes to warn them that I'm slowing down!!

Re: Bl@@dy weather
How do you members dry your pcx, do you just dry the metal work or all the bike and what do you use? I do nothing to mine, it sits outside uncovered in all weathers. I gave up on covering it because it was too much of a p.i.t.a. Only gets washed every three or four months. Mine sits outside ...

Hello and welcome to this forum.
Not had any moments riding the PCX yet, but had one or two when I first started riding my Deauvilles, which is one of the reasons why I went and did the Institute Advanced Motorcyclist skills for life course!!

Re: how does your PCX handle in the rain?
Nothing wrong with the PCX in the rain. As others have said it is how you ride and your awareness of the road conditions. As the norm, watch out for those manhole covers, if you do a regular commute memorise them so you know where they are when it is wet. You need to alter your ride style slightly i...
Re: My PCX
HID kit which is very pricey. It would be illegal to fit one to a PCX and ride it on UK roads. You are not allowed to retro-fit HID kits to any vehicle in the UK unless it had HID lights when it was originally manufactured. I know of of owners on the Deauville forum who have fitted HID conversions ...

Re: stop /start test
To be honest with my short commute, I don't think the stop/start would make any difference to my fuel consumption. I think if you were in a city with lots of stop start situations (such as traffic light/crossings) then it might make a difference there.

Re: Yet another windshield thread (aerodynamics related)
Well I have just fitted the standard Givi screen tonight. I'll see how I get on with it. As for gear, I wear a Hi Vis Hein Gerricke fully armoured textile jacket. for trousers I bought a pair of ski trousers from mountain warehouse, and they are good. I do have armoured trousers, but don't wear them...

Re: What if the battery goes flat?
Why not would be because you may have to wait for hours as I did when I dieseled mine. I believe the battery is at the front of the underseat storage area behind a flap. ooer, I petroled my diesel 4x4 once, didn't have to wait long, all in all that fill up ended up costing me over £200 and this was...

To be honest I've not even gone looking for the battery on my PCX  If for any reasons the battery went flat, I would call the very nice people from the AA out :D Why not with the 2 years free AA cover Honda give. Forgot about that bit, doesn't really matter because I belong to the AA anyway, ...

Re: Crazy
As a full time professional driver, I tend to drive to how I see the road conditions. In the car on motorways I tend to cruise at 75-80 and do the same on my Deau. PCX on my normal commute is never out of the 30/40mph zones. My works vehicles are restricted to a max of 62mph on motorways, which I fi...

Re: Insurance renewal
Ive got both my bikes isured on the same policy for just over £200. Having said that I'm noy undre 25!! Young riders/drivers do have it rough over the insurance, but they are in the highest risk catagory. Worsy example of insurance quote I have come across was for my son. He wanted to buy a van valu...
