Re: 2017 PCX 150 Windshield Windscreen What do you use in U.
I read many reports of people not liking the standard screen - and when I first got my bike I was quite aware of the buffeting at top speed. Having said that though - 34,000km later I don't even really notice it - completely used to it - inc some days where I'll ride over 300km. In my mind a wee bit...

Re: **Update** A short string of bad luck.....
I'm with Homie on this. First and foremost though, just be 100% certain that the bike is 100.00% mechanically safe. Other than that - personally - I'd fix it up (doing as much as I could myself) and use the balance to reduce the amount owing. Reminds me of the time I had a $8125 Rolex stolen - Insur...

Re: Transmission Noise
Transmission or clutch bearing area? If you put the bike on its center stand and spun the back wheel backwards does the noise increase? I'd say Mel's on to it - The bike is notorious for this up to and including the 2014 model. Here's a video of my bike making it: KM4EuN5bDSI If it is that - the go...

Re: 2017 pcx versus 2015 pcx valve adjustment
If I'd had the dealer service the bike over 2 yr's that would have been a minimum of £850 (their basic quotes for labour and non major parts) + extras (extra parts, tax, ext). With cost of public transport over the 2 yr's for the days I do not have the scooter, well over £1000 on top of the cost of...

Re: 2017 pcx versus 2015 pcx valve adjustment
I checked mine at 600 miles per spec, the intake needed adjustment. Will check them again at 2,500 miles per spec. Then I'm planning on going with their recommended interval in Europe of every 4,000 miles. I think the big difference is in whether people are prepared to do it themselves. If they're ...

Re: Just in time for the riding season
Nice Mel46, I work on C-130's for 21 years now, i visited Lockheed Martin twice, once in '96 and then in '15 the manufacturing proces had changed a lot the second time. And yes, it is the greatest flying workhorse there is. Sorry for the off topic guys ;) I still "fondly" remember all the...

Re: New owner pcx 125
From past comments in this forum, it seems Australian models have a seat switch but not sure how many other countries - not the UK/US and wonder about Europe (with Europe safety regs in overload, strange it's not something Honda is forced to install as the idle stop can be dangerous if the throttle...

Re: New owner pcx 125
That may be law too - such as when travelling in europe and when broken down on motorways - your supposed to have warning lights on, which may not apply to bikes, especially older ones, but no harm being visible. Having lights on during the day may help that extra few % of numtees see you. For sure...

Re: New owner pcx 125
Fair enough, as a safety thing I agree on all the time has its uses. So what use are hazard lights? Not planning on breaking down 8) Not fitted to my model, so it's a moot point for me. In my part of the world hazard lights are generally only used to mark the presence of an illegally parked vehicle...

Re: 2017 pcx versus 2015 pcx valve adjustment
Maybe keep in mind too that this is an opinion and not everyone feels this way. How people "feel" doesn't change reality. And the reality is that all manufacturers are businesses. And businesses exist for the sole purpose of making a return on investment for their owners. It would be pret...

Re: 2017 pcx versus 2015 pcx valve adjustment
Mine has just passed 32,000km since it's last valve check - and even the dealer admitted the other day that the valves still sound fine (and it continues to run as good as the day I bought it). Per gn2's post - keep in mind that what's written in the manual is what's best all things considered for t...

Re: New owner pcx 125
I don't personally like the stop start. Prefer the instant power rather than the slight lag with the Stop/Start. Plus it has failed on me twice, which results in you having to frantically switch off/on and restart bike. Not worth the hassle in saving a tiny bit of petrol. I switch mine off at a cou...

Re: New owner pcx 125
If I could change just one thing on the PCX it would be to swap the hazard lights for a normal headlight on/off switch. In New Zealand it's the law that motorcycles must have their headlights on - which I think is very sensible anyway. So I don't personally have any need to ever switch my headlight...

Re: Just in time for the riding season
I spent 12 years in the Coast Guard, much of it flying around in all sorts of aircraft, but I loved the C-130 the most. Yes, it is noisy, but it can do so much. Interestingly enough, I got out of the service, went back to finish my college education, and then went to work for the manufacturer of th...

Re: Shark X16 ATV/Bike/Scooter helmet
Nice helmet Maverick. Because it is soooo hot here I only wear a 3/4 helmet, but it has saved my face once, so I bought another one just like it after the crash. Still, if it wasn't so hot here, sometimes with no breeze, I would like one like yours. Over here it can get hot inside the helmet, but i...

Re: Shark X16 ATV/Bike/Scooter helmet
I kind of like my face the way it is. I'm jealous of your helmet TheMaverick. Gil Thanks. A worker at a local DIY shop approached me about it - lots of questions. He was really keen until he heard the price! Surprisingly though, I've seen cheaper brands with better crash test results (which I didn'...
