Re: running in

The story tells itself but don't look to electric vehicles to save us from the disposable engines and air pollution. To charge up millions of vehicles a day? It's not possible to deliver this kind of electricity grid on this planet... ever  California thinks they will be the first to go full e...

Re: running in

Well all we really need is two brand new PCX's to put this to rest, one very gently ridden and one very aggressively. The proof will be obvious on the compression gauge. So who will participate? pledge your next new PCX... sign up now :) We'll use your PCX to document the numbers. If you believe th...

So the decision is to remove the housing and at the very least blow out anything that has settled in there and check the bearing sometime over the winter months. If it's "the usual suspect" then "blowing it out" won't do anything. Re-greasing MAY help (there have been unconfirme...

Re: running in

The quoted article also says "Cruise power settings above 65%, and preferably in the 70% to 75% of rated power range, should be used to achieve a good engine break-in." That's not WOT..... Also, isn't that Lycoming engine equipped with a diameter & pitch propeller that prevents the en...

Re: running in

Unlike a clutch bike you are naturally seating your rings on a twist-n-go with the aggressive WOT acceleration and deceleration habits of city traffic. No long highway runs or endless country roads for the first 300 and dump the oil at 600 for sure. Then ride the crap out of it and I think your com...

Re: running in

How worried should one be about braking too hard ? Obviously emergency stops need to happen if they need to happen. But I missed that bit of guidance (my OM is in Japanese...) and practiced some low-ish speed emergency stops yesterday just to establish braking distance etc. Is that a terrible thing...

Re: 2017 PCX 150 Windshield Windscreen What do you use in U.

I especially like using my FF helmets when the bugs are out. Going by marsh areas along the shoreline the gnats can be quite numerous at times and they hit my face shield like sleet. It's always better to wear a FF helmet but there are occasions when I'll wear my open face for short hops. During wi...

Meant to be termoscud, it's the wrap on leg cover, a must for any scooter owner in winter in my opinion :) http://www.tucanourbano.com/eu/motorcycle-scooter-leg-covers-hand-covers/termoscud.html?p=5 Thanks for that - can't say I'd heard of them before. I normally just wear some thermals under a win...

Re: 2017 PCX 150 Windshield Windscreen What do you use in U.

Thanks for the replies. I cruised up to a local motorcycle shop, just after posting this, and picked up a real helmet that blocks all of the air from my face. I think I'll be just fine now. I've been riding a Ruckus for the past couple years with a half helmet, but now that I'm going far over the R...
