Re: Does anyone have a Givi E37 or E34 top box ?

I installed my Givi E30 topbox in around an hour. It was easy. Looks just like the topcase in the first picture, except just a tiny bit smaller, and it still fits a full face helmet and maybe a couple cans of beer. Best of all, it's not too gawdy looking.

Re: Honda covered my towing today

Well, I finally made it to the dealer in the middle of my workday. It took several tries but they were able to get the key to turn...barely. They are going to relace a part in the ignition area anyways since it still "sticks" way too much. Which one?...I don't know yet until tomorrow. And ...

Honda covered my towing today

Yep. The PCX needed a tow today. My key would not turn the ignition, so matter what I tried. It had been raining off and on quite a bit here in Florida the last few days. Thankfully, I was in the office when it began to rain again, and not out on the road. AAA basically said I would need to spend mo...

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)

As noted from my video, 61mph with J Costa variator. Stock 57mph with some initial belt wear. Originally did 60mph stock. All per speedo. Dyno states that speedo is 1mph optimistic. I have hit as high as 65mph using J Costa on the interstate with other cars around. I would like to get video of this ...

Re: need instruction for how to replace a spark plug

I checked through my old packet of papers from when I bought the PCX. There was no instruction manual. I found a downloadable manual from ClubPCX. The task looks pretty easy. Thanks for the tip.

need instruction for how to replace a spark plug

Figured I would ask since this would be a first time for me doing this. Thanks.

Re: And the results are in...

When I was going to see my patients today, I noticed that when I took the interstate I could go up to as high as 64-65mph. That was only when other cars were around. When I took a rural high speed road to another patient I could only go 60-61mph as noted in my video. Maybe the other cars on the inte...

Re: And the results are in...

I was just thinking the same thing. I saw that they claimed to have made a video but it was too long for Youtube back around summer of last year. Why couldn't they edit it down to appropriate size? It would have saved a lot of trouble.

Re: And the results are in...

See this thread I made about a month ago. http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=308 Most likely the gradual wearing on the belt has to do with with loss of top speed. Plus the USA version of the PCX seems to top out at less speed than the other versions in other parts of the world. Plus with s...

And the results are in...

Finally after several weeks of getting tools and figuring out how to remove the variator nut, I finally have the results of stock vs J. Costa variator. It is very amateur, but it gets to the point. It was uploaded to Youtube using my wife's account.

Re: how does your PCX handle in the rain?

That's true that slightly wet roads are worse than roads subjected to pouring rain. My fall happened after turning onto a residential road. Regardless, I don't think that I am brave enough to go back out on my PCX with any sign of wet weather approaching. I have been nervous riding even on dry weath...

Re: how does your PCX handle in the rain?

I fell off my bike suddenly. Still got the broken panels and left ribs area pain as evidence, even though it's been three weeks ago now. Still waiting on the new replacement panels, as they are on backorder. It was minimal rain, just enough to bring the oils out of the ground. I would not trust the ...

Re: Yet another windshield thread (aerodynamics related)

If you're gonna get a windshield, it's best not to half-ass it if you are wanting practicality. I have a tallest Givi windscreen and it helps. However, it is not the prettiest in the world, but it works.

In Tampa, FL. Thanks for the offer, but a 6 hr one-way drive to Atlanta will cost more than the wrench itself. :P

Re: Variators for increased speed,

The first of the month is upon us, so the rent has to get paid. Afterwards, I'll find a cheap impact wrench to hopefully get this project done.

Re: Newbie

@ Woolley...temps in Florida are typically still in the 80ish degrees F (29-30 degrees Celsius). Still pretty hot at that time of year. Bring plenty of water to Disney, as the lines for the rides are very long.

Re: Newbie

I got the Givi tallest screen. My wife doesn't like the looks so I removed it for now. I'll put it back on when it gets chilly in Florida (it does happen here sometimes) as it does do a good job at preventing the wind from hitting the core of your body.

Re: Variators for increased speed,

I really wanted to do the comparison testing today regarding the J. Costa variator. I took 3 "before" rounds on my digital camera showing how loooooong it takes for me to get to my crappy top speed. After I removed to variator cover (including that difficult screw...thanks you all), I trie...

Re: How do I remove this screw?

I would be happy to. Just give me some time to get it set up because I am busy with work this week. I have not yet received my new belt or spark plug (regarding my other "performance" thread) as they are on back order, so my PCX still currently tops at 57mph for now. So my results would be...
