Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
I found these kevlar lined underpants: http://www.amazon.com/Draggin-Liners-Size-X-Large-Motorcycle/dp/B001J1JBI6 How does Kevlar stack up against CE approved armour? I currently wear cycling/jogging pants under a pair of dress pants or jeans, then further wear a waterproof abrasion resistant heavy ...

Thanks, Mel46. This is why I shouldn't believe everything I hear randomly on the internet. Which one of these listings would you look at first: http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/pml/mcy/4868032569.html '04 33k km $2800CA http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/mcy/4866411278.html '04 16k km Givi box $3250CA...

Re: Kymco 2015 Downtown 300i and Xciting 500i
The XMax looks nice me, more sporty like the Downtown. But a shame they screwed up the fairing footrests as well.

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
I like the Downtown styling and yes I think it has dual 55W halogen lights. The only thing I have an issue with is not having a proper comfortable fairing footrest. I hardly have any qualms with the seat itself. If I could consider the Forza I would. No complaints about the Forza. You can ride a mot...

Re: Just started scooting.
You might feel differently once you get rear-ended by someone texting on their phone at 50 mph, or you meet the infamous road ragers: rNIBUh2JLBU Mom of the year. Does that mean you don't like seeing the family sedan blow past you? Because that might be the wrong mindset to own a 50cc moped. True f...

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
If your actual highway cruising speed is 80km/h(and nobody tries to run you over for that) and that's not just the speed limit, you ought to do just fine with the PCX. During rush hour, traffic rarely hits 90 in the fast HOV lane when it opens up. If I work late and go home past rush hour, doing 90...

Re: 2015 USA Rev Limiter/governor 64-65 mph?
Probably the same if they are both set up with their weights optimized for 8,000 rpm. 45mph at 8,000 rpm will be the same on both machines despite the difference in final gearing. Is it? I was under the impression that one of the benefits of longer gearing is that you run faster speeds at the same ...

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
Kymco has less aftermarket support though while the PCX almost has a cult following that could rival the Ruckus. I love the seating position of the PCX and while I didn't love the seat at first, it's at least equal to my BWS which I am able to ride 3 hours a day no problem. But I do definitely need ...

Re: Just started scooting.
I find that not being able to keep up with traffic in some situations is an annoyance vs. a real safety hazard. Sometimes I'm heading up a bridge in my 50cc following traffic in the right lane at 35km/h, slow even for my 50cc. But I can't move into the left lane because my 50cc can only do 45 and tr...

Re: Kymco 2015 Downtown 300i and Xciting 500i
The XCiting 500i has been available in Canada since 2008. Someone in a local scooter club has one, as well as a GSX650 and VStrom 650. He's owned a Reflex and a Bet & Win 250 before, and he says by far the 2008 XCiting 500i is his favourite grocery getter. ABS is listed as an option. The 3.4 gal...

Side note, Kawasaki liked the Downtown 300i enough to rebadge and slightly restyle one to their own Kawasaki J300.

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
Some things to think about. I have no issue with the Downtown seat whatsoever as it is Forza comfortable, nor do I have a problem with the extremely spacious foot floor. At 6'-1" with a 32" inseam, I have about 3 to 4" of free legroom in front of me. The only issue might be that my kn...

Re: New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comforta
The Downtown 300i is a quality unit, not Forza good but definitely better than the Mainland Chinese products. The Downtown has been owned by a member of a local scooter forum for over the past 2 years and has full service records. The Downtown has electronic fuel injection and has fuel consumption n...

Re: Just started scooting.
Great to hear that it's working out for you, ckosio. I think in the end, the comfort level of using a PCX150 varies between different regions and time of day. kcpcx raises good points but there are many factors. I wish lane splitting was legal in my province. I've seen some scooterists and motorcycl...

New Japanese fwy capable vs. used Taiwanese fwy comfortable
I was awoken this morning at 2:30am and couldn't fall back to sleep when this dilemma popped up in my head. I can either go with a 2015 Honda PCX150 for CA$4748 (US$3798) OTD or I have an opportunity to purchase a used 2011 Kymco Downtown 300i with 13,000km for CA$4480 (US$3584) OTD. It'll mostly be...

Is the D1136ST already available with the D1130ST coming soon? I got an ad from Revzilla for the 1136:
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi ... aQodDa0AbQ
$90, kinda tempting.

Re: Bonus Time Coming For A Few Accessories???
It's definitely useful for attaching longer items. $199 on Amazon, you may find a better price elsewhere. I was definitely impressed by the added versatility of it when I saw it at the motorcycle show. It comes with a tight bungee that could handle a typical 4 person tent but carry along some extra ...

I saw part numbers for a red insert and a white insert. I would order the one with the red insert if possible. I only see ones with the white insert on the online stores I've checked out.
