Thanks fish. All caught up on final drive info. Question for everyone. Is it okay to put 10w40 in the final drive? I'm thinking of using 10w40 in my oil rather than 10w30 due to WOT on my commute and warmer temps coming in the summer here soon. I ride spring/summer/fall with temps ranging from 45-60...

Are the sealing washers for the final drive bolts the same as the crush washer on the motor oil drain bolt?

I read through this, but didn't get my answer. Where do you fill the final drive oil after you drain it?

I'm a newb. Where can I check the final drive oil?

I use Amsoil synthetic 10w30. You think Amsoil might be prone to burning more or shearing more? I thought it was good quality.

I'm going to drain it and refill. I have no idea why it was so low. I'll be making it a practice to check at each station stop. I'll keep you posted

It's definitely not losing oil. The drain plug is tight and no oil residue present around it. The screen plug is tight. I'm going to start checking it daily after my commute to see what is going on. Well the first thing the dealer told me is they prefer to keep it overnight to ensure the engine is cold. So maybe it's worth paying for it this time around, even if for warranty purposes & peace of mind. I'll just get this one done, and not worry for a long time afterwards I hope

Skip the valve adjustment? Or proceed with getting them checked by the dealer?? I'd like everybody's thoughts on if I should or not. My scheduled apt is 5/8 to drop it off & 5/9 to pick it up
