Re: photo mirror extensions
When I need to see behind I turn my head round. Works a treat and costs nothing. Head comes screwed on already so no need to worry about what thread my neck is. At rider training they take all the mirrors off to force trainees to use their head principally while of course they also know a sig...

Re: Forza seat piston
My seat will stay up by itself - just - provided that there is no wind and I'm parked on flat ground. I'm not happy about it and have complained to my dealer. I was advised to leave it and see what developed. I was shown the Honda dealer notice on this by my dealer mechanic. Slightly lengthy but bo...

Re: Forza seat piston
I was doing a few things on my Forza today and put the battery back in for a few hours. While doing that the freakin seat fell on me several times and turned what should have been 5 minutes effort into 20 eventually. 10 below freezing in our underground parking and I was cursing Honda and that crazi...

Re: Forza seat piston
So 9 votes is not statistically relevant really but 2/3 have or had problems. With it not really being a safety factor I am not sure Honda will rush to a global recall. In some countries the recall law requirements are not just safety driven so you may see some recalls but not globally. I know in a ...

Re: ATGATT or Squidding: What do YOU ride with?
Maybe someone can advise me where I can buy kevlar jeans with armour. I'm 5'6" tall, my legs are shorter than usual, my waist is 44". (I'm a mess :-) Previously attempted to buy jeans from http://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/ , they quoted 80 English Pounds just for delivery charges to Oz, wh...

Re: Strange recall notice
Was just speaking to my dealership mechanic and asked him about this. He said he has had a few people with CVT claiming something like this. On discussions with them he thinks it's simply using a bit of gas with what they thought was the clutch and friction point and losing control. He went on to sa...

Re: Forza seat piston
16,000 miles on my Forza, seat has been opened at least twice most days in the last 18 months, lifter works perfectly. Actually that should have read at least four times a day. Going by my Fuelly records I have used my scooter at least 300 days, so the seat has been opened a minimum of 1200 times. ...

Re: Strange recall notice
Mmmmmmm - not sure about this! Have heard of a few somewhat experienced two wheelers who had not been on a CVT bike. They forgot they did not have the clutch friction control and though they could gas it a bit with no consequences!!

Re: Forza seat piston
Mine has not worked since day one. I was going to write it of as a pain in the neck poor design but since I have to go in for the fuel pump recall I will ask the dealer to address it then. Honestly though the fuel pump recall with all the horror stories of damaged panels concerns me more, makes me ...

Yes, it just seems most people refer to it as a piston - even in the Honda dealership!speedandstyle wrote:By "piston" I assume you mean the strut that holds the seat up when open. I also assume that your's has failed.

Re: Recall on the FORZA seat lifter?
Nothing new but failure rate is very high and way above the rate for fuel pump. Was told that it's almost 30% in Italy by my Italian born Honda dealer. Maybe a quick poll here - I will start and say mine is gone for second time in 6 months.

I can only assume from the deafening silence that everyone goes straight to the battery terminals with all accessories. I ordered the Denali as I like the idea and ease of one ignitan connection and making the choice of an accessory being switched or not.

I say you are right on the "too big to learn on" part. But I wonder how fast she was going to have been killed from head trauma even with a helmet. Of coarse it might have been the wrong size helmet or one of those skull cap types that offer little protection. I have seen so many who don'...

Re: $30 HONDA FORZA Serv. Manual
Seen on eBay If it's not too grubby, this could be handy - even if you never intend to do any of your Forza's servicing - this is a good resource to look over before taking your Honda in for professional serving. Educate yourself - and a clean copy is pretty good bed-time reading! Or, wait for the ...

PowerHub/distribution box
As I have a few things to wire up (LED lights, GPS etc.) it seemed that something like a Denali PowerHub made some sense. Anyone used any of the hubs or the Denali and have some comments?

I have not seen any of the DCT bikes here as they simply don't sell them other than the NM4. Did they move the rear brake up to the left hand or did they leave it down below?
