Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
Thoughts out loud... The Majesties have a horrible air filter design as their one major fly in the ointment. The filter sucks in really dirty air by design. A number of reports I've read said their air filter was completely gunked up in 1000 miles. There are three filters, too, and roughly $20 each ...

Vespa of St. Louis supposedly carries Piaggio. Not sure if that is convenient to you.

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
My wife can't stand it, same here. She says call me when you get it narrowed down to two things if you want my opinion. lol Those BV350s seem to get positive reviews across the board. I don't know if Piaggios are any good long term, though. If you could get that one for $500 less than they are adver...

SECoda, an interesting scoot leftover at a dealer local to me that might interest you. I bet you could get them down further given the season...comparable in price to a Forza.

Re: Okay to run Premium gas in PCX150
^ This is true. I try to avoid the ethanol gas for political reasons, not for fear of harming the scoot. Also, the non ethanol fuel seems to last longer before going stale, without having to add stabilizer. I notice this when using a can to fill my lawn equipment. Takes a while to go through 5 gallo...

Re: Okay to run Premium gas in PCX150
I realize this isn't a scooter, but for what it's worth... My car is one that supposedly would derive a benefit from running premium gas. A 2014 VW Jetta with the 1.8L turbo engine. I've run tanks of 87 and 91 octane through back to back to see if there is a noticeable difference in fuel economy or ...

Awww yeaaahhh -- used bikes starting to appear
Can't wait until the population of used Forzas gets a little better. Nice to see some showing up in the used market. http://www.cycletrader.com/FORZA----Honda-Motorcycles-on-CycleTrader.com/search-results?category=Scooter|2009120&condition=U&make=Honda|2316874&model=FORZA|764949839&s...

Re: Wrong spec engine oil used.
I discovered BITOG one day (Bob Is The Oil Guy) and am amazed to this day that tens of thousands of people could discuss engine oil to that extent. Plenty of useful and interesting info there.

If I recall, he said they were out of spec a bit, but nothing ridiculous. He commented that it's not a difficult job, it's just a pain to remove all the plastic to access the engine.iceman wrote:kcpcx - do you know if the valves were out?

Got a link to yer bright lights? Easy install? http://www.lights.skenedesign.com/ Install is not difficult. You need to remove the tail body work piece to access the wiring for the rear tail light and turn signals. For the front lights, you need to locate a switched power wire in the cavity behind ...

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
There is a pretty large cycle dealer near me here in KC. Probably the biggest one in the city unless there is another I'm unaware of. Multiple bike lines, huge indoor showroom with a bazillion bikes on display... ...they are also the highest priced place, from what I can tell. More high pressure, wi...

Being conspicuous -- Skene Lights, early morning low light
I've noticed that people in cars tend to look right through motorcycle and scooters. To increase my visibility, I installed some Skene Designs LEDs front and rear a while back. Rode home from work in the early morning before the sun was up. The running lights make the PCX a lot more visible to cager...

Re: New PCX
Welcome. A fair number of people order accessories from Thailand. The PCX is popular there. A place called Powerbypcx. Also, a Japanese outfit called Webike carries a number of PCX items. You can make anything go faster if you want to spend enough money. I'm not the guru on top speed modifications, ...

Re: Have you ever seen the oil strainer screen clogged or gu
My dad bought a PCX 2013 about a month ago around the time I bought mine. I just talked to him and he said he changed his oil at 600 miles, checked the valves, and changed the final drive oil. He said the engine oil screen was clean with one exception. A sliver of gasket material was caught by the s...

Nice.
Well, in the remote event you need any help getting up there to get it, let me know. It wouldn't be a problem, most likely, during the week. I work weekends so often have mid-week free.

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
Yeah, that sounds about right from Columbia to St Joe. If it was a bigger motorcycle, I'd say jump on Amtrak in STL, ride to my place in Lees Summit, and I could give you a ride to St Joe pretty easy to pick up, then you ride it home. But you wouldn't want to ride a brand new Forza home that far, pr...

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
Not sure. When I talked to them about a PCX, I got the vibe that there were no fees or crap tacked on up there. The sales manager was totally not what you normally run into, not a wheeler dealer type. Very straightforward. Contrast that to the huge mega line powersports dealer here in Grandview near...

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
Yes, hence why I bought closer to my house compared with going to St Joe to buy for $200 less. My total time on the phone was less than an hour. Probably 30 or 40 min. I only spent time going to a few dealers to attempt to see a red one in person. The main reason I had to call all over creation was ...
