Re: Mobius vs. Go Pro? - Helmet or Bike Mount?

I wish politicians in Poland would be on our side and allow people to have firearms. Our history shows that having a weapon in every household is a must. You know, we are between Russia and Germany...

Re: Idling stop

I think it's the same 'safety' rule that you can't put a car with automatic gearbox to N when waiting for green light. It has to be D all the time... I think there is a law about that in US... Anyway, USA _IS_ different. :D BTW, 2014 PCX has (advertised...) battery sensor which disables Start/Stop s...

Re: Mobius vs. Go Pro? - Helmet or Bike Mount?

I'd go for the newest GoPro 4 or GoPro 3+ Black but... there is a price difference and I don't really need such camera. It's "nice to have" not "must have". I can live with plain HD. I think... :D

Re: Mobius vs. Go Pro? - Helmet or Bike Mount?

I went for "the best of the best" and got myself GoPro Hero 3+ Silver. I'll mount it on windscreen. Used a suction cup (accessory) once, but I'll put a more permanent glued mount. Problem is, that 30 minutes riding is 5GB of movie files with 1080p resolution. But I bought GoPro becau...

Re: Coolant temperature indicator ?

I just noticed that when engine is warm enough for Start-Stop system to engage, the thermometer shows 80C. Since Start-Stop should activate when the temp is 50C that means I have to subtract 30C from the readings to have real temperature. :) 116C minus 30C gives 86 Celsius, which is a legitimate wor...

Re: Coolant temperature indicator ?

OK, So I got my thermometer installed (the kit from webike.net). It shows something. Like 116C as the standard riding temperature. It is possible that 2014 temp sensor is different than previous models hence I have such high reading. I don't think this is real working temperature (though, it could b...

Re: Oz, the lucky country

Looks like in Poland it's not that bad. Stationary speed cameras must have a warning sign so You know there may be one ahead. And there is default tolerance 10km/h over speed limit. Meaning, when the limit is 50km/h and you're going 59km/h you don't get the ticket. Mind you, when you are 13 km/h ove...

Re: Highway riding tips.

In Poland you can pass on left or right. It's legal. It's not that bad idea, considering that very often you can encounter a slow-poke on left lane too afraid to ride on the right lane, because he will have to turn left after 2 kilometers ...

Re: How cold will you ride?

To prevent fogging of visor I must keep it open a very small amount.....and at stops open full to also keep spectacles clear..Your face gets used to it. Fish Maybe... I'll try something I read was OK. I have one of those: ESS Reusable NO FOG Cloth http://www.esseyepro.com/Reusable-NO-FOG-Cloths-25-...

Re: How cold will you ride?

I still find the fogging of my glasses and helmet visor the most annoying inconvenience. Apart from that it could be quite nice winter riding. :)

Re: How cold will you ride?

I'm considering a vest made from mesh that has some wide yellow reflective bands. Funny thing is, on the back it has an inscription "POLSKA" (POLAND in English :D ) which is quite similar to "POLICJA" written on Police high visibility vests. http://www.motohybrid.pl/public/...

No, I have a pinlock and it just froze on the inside. Not all but a part of it.

I have to figure some kind of breath deflector. To keep the moist air out of the visor and glasses.

Re: How cold will you ride?

I did some research and unfortunately there is not much that can be helped. :( One solution - buy a snowmobile helmet with electric heated shield. May not be legal in Europe . And this is expensive option. :( Second one is to buy a mask :D : http://shop.coldavenger.com/sale/coldavenger-pro-softshell...

Re: How cold will you ride?

So, first ride in -5 Celsius behind me. Wasn't that bad. My feet get a bit cold, my hands were fine. Biggest problem was the fog on my glasses inside the helmet and ... ice on the inner side of the helmet visor... That is really annoying and puts a big hold on winter riding. I need a heated helmet v...

Re: colder weather fuel economy

Colder air is thicker which is better (that's why you have intercoolers on turbo engines) - more air -> more oxygen -> You can use more fuel -> MORE POWER :D , but you need more energy to keep the engine temperature in the optimal range. And it takes more time to reach this temp. So you use more fue...

Re: How cold will you ride?

Yes... I do wonder why I need a car. :) Adding all costs, insurance etc. it would be cheaper to use taxi from time to time when I need it and rent a car for vacation (if any). But... I like cars and I like to have a car. And I pay for satisfying that desire. :D Still, the scooter is cheaper than a c...
