Re: Just sayin'! speed trap

Funny you mentioned that cause I remember travelling through the deep south early 70's in my VW van with out of country plates,
seemed the local sheriffs would pull up behind me and escort me to the next county where they would hand me off to another escort.
Never did get pulled over.

Stumbled across this today
https://www.rideapart.com/articles/3654 ... v-300-usa/
Wish I was closer to 50 than 70 and a bit taller. Broke my fibula, sounds better than broke my leg,a few weeks ago.
Walking not riding, shit happens so kind of a mute point for me.

Re: Game On! Last Song Word is Yours

Don't want to hog the forum but being a child of Motown this song hit right away -seemed to me lots of girls my small circle were singing this to me back then.
45 years later still like to believe there are girls singing the same song to me.

Re: Ass puckering drives

My brother who is a pretty cool cucumber with over 40 years of trucking hauled truck and transfer units of asphalt over this road a few years ago. I think he said he was grossing 60000 kg or 130000 lbs. He admitted it stressed him out. No time for eating cheezies or combing your hair. Knowing Bert h...

Re: Ass puckering drives

That hill is some 20 kms long, at the top me and another wild and crazy guy decided to eat a hand full of peyote buttons to enhance the drive to the coast-mistake!! Lost the brakes near the top where there was a series of seven switchbacks, full lock on the steering to get around them. The return sp...

Ass puckering drives

did this one in my 63 VW van-brakes failed-had to nose the old girl into the bank. No real damage and after fixing the return spring on the brake cylinder was on my way.

Re: Crossing I-70

Crossed Colorado Feb 1973 in a 63 VW van-talk about slow- the older vans had outboard reduction gears to compensate for that tiny VW engine. Anyway east to west, it started to snow after leaving Boulder, can't remember my tire situation but sure they were not winter rated radials. Just kept climbing...

Windshield or not?

Changed back to the stock after using the aftermarket NC high shield. What a difference, I can see where I an going now.
Seems my focal point was distorted when looking through the taller screen, much better now.
Whole different bike-live and learn.

Re: Tail of The Mouse

Before the roads here were changed to modern standards-4 lane chutes- they were much like the tail of the mouse. I new them well and not too many could compete with me riding my bike. Once though a mini cooper s gave me a run for my money. Later on did own a Mini not the S model but it was a blast -...
