It's strange... my PCX is also a 2014 model, like yours (2015 model in the States) and both sides have regular thread... my PCX was built in Italy: perhaps yours was built in another country?

I'm subscribing to this thread to learn more about dissasembling of 2015 PCXs, as I've already noticed, when installing my new windshield, that the procedure is different from the the one used with older models...
