Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Clues come from unexpected places! :D So, only ABS models in all markets are affected so far?? That's what it sounds like. is it possible we've found one thing all Forzas with fuel pump failures have had in common? If the other US model with a failed pump turns out to be the ABS model, that has to m...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

I don't know the number of Forza owners who are members of the Italian Forza forum, but for the Big Ruckus, we eventually knew the exact number of '05s sold and a good approximation of the number of '06 BRs sold (combined, under 2500).... but forum membership of BR owners was <200 so maybe 7-8% (cer...

Re: Valve shims size for valve adjustments?

Here you go.... part #(s) 16 - shim, tappet http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/hon/51b8ddebf870022e1c80d57a/camshaft-valve the scenario I see is something like this: you take it apart, check the clearance and the installed shim, then order what you need to make it right.... a kit consisting o...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Robisc, earlier you mentioned total sales of the Forza in Italy had reached about 3000 units.... to more accurately define the range of affected scooters in Italy, you may need to request the last 4 digits of the VIN instead of 3. As it stands now, it looks like about 700 Italian Forzas may have a d...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Here the last 3 digits of 3 VINs of affected Forza 300: 097 256 800 That would indicate a range of over 700 affected scooters, assuming sequential numbers. That's way more than I was hoping to see. Each Forza market will probably have duplicate numbers in the range of the last 6 digits.... there is...

Re: Spanner Wrench for rear shocks

A little more information on this......

the preload adjustment nut on the Forza shock absorber is 1 & 13/16" (1.812") or 46mm in diameter.....
a shock spanner in the 45-50mm range should fit it.

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

I don't think you can learn much by the model year, especially when relating that information to quarterly production runs..... some Big Ruckus scooters had an assembly date 2 years older than their VIN model year What if you ask your members with failed fuel pumps for the last 3 digits of their VIN...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

On the US models, there can be a year difference in the assembly date (6/13) and the model year (E) which is a 2014 model.... does that mean in some markets, owners have no way of knowing the assembly date? If so, that means knowing the actual VIN numbers of the Forzas with failed fuel pumps is the ...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

I posted these in another thread but thought it might be useful to readers who browse in on this thread. Your Forza's identify plate is on the front left side right under the locked box...... you may have to get on your knees to see, as it's on the underside of the console http://i143.photobucket.co...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Thanks again for posting that! I'll take your word on the oil seal but I'll keep an eye on that point just in case. DioTiAma, you've just boosted my confidence in MY Forza at least a thousandfold! I suspect that's true for many of us and it is a realistic heads-up! for owners of Forzas in the affect...

Re: NSS300A Major Problems

The Honda Forza 300 has/had three major problems: rear wheel problem which affected only the early production line (& was known only in Thailand), then was the oil leak problem (down from the water pump) which affected models produced on the second, third & even forth quarter of 2013 and th...

Re: Anyone been in here?

In order to access the engine and remove the valve cover, you have to remove everything pictured above and in that exact order..... 1) side panels (these have one screw and one pushpin "trim clip" and one snap locking lug to grommet) 2) topbox mount cover (pushpins) 3) rear spoiler cover (...

Here's a side view of the Givi, if it helps..... I moved the scoot outside right after a rain and the humidity instantly condensed on the shield so it's outline stands out in sharp contrast.... http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r154/BRed1/IMG_20140819_192402298.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Anyone been in here?

Here are a few more of the pics from the teardown...these are mostly of the frame and other features. I took notes on a few things and tried to locate most of the critical components from the service manual drawings. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r154/BRed1/IMG_20140824_205138155_HDR.jpg http:/...

Re: WTB: smartphone holder in middle of handlebars

I have one of the RAM mounts like you're speaking of....it uses a hose type band clamp with a thin rubber sleeve. I just tried it last night on my Forza and it won't fit. :( The bar clamps are too narrow and the clamp can't be cut down because of how its made. It might clamp to the first upright sec...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

maybe we can get some idea of how widespread the problem is based on VINs...... if we knew the VINs of Forzas with a failed fuel pump, we might be able to discern a pattern? an example... when the early Forzas had a problem with the final drive/rear wheel, eventually several owners posted that their...

Re: Spanner Wrench for rear shocks

The Ohlins spanner was for an Ohlins custom built shock for the Big Ruckus..... I don't know what size body they used and it wasn't one of their standard shocks. The Forza OEM tool looks like this one for a CB900..... http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTI5WDg3MQ==/z/fjMAAOSwI~VTzAeK/$_57.JPG If it fits........

Re: Anyone been in here?

The CVT cover was easy to remove, but it uses 3 different length screws so there was a little trial and error putting it back on.... there's also one central cover screw that's easy to miss when disassembling it if you're familiar with the Reflex or BR (they don't have it), but the cover won't budge...
