Re: It's Electric!

the inevitable downside of electrics...... 7 batteries at 60 pounds each + 4 chargers at 25 pounds each = > 500 pounds (of fuel!?) add that to the weight of the bike + rider and gear and at 80mph, you have the kinetic energy of a bulldozer.... so, not intended for corner carving on mountain twisties...

Re: Anyone using the City Grip 150/70-13 rear on their Forza

here's another option..... I've bought many bike tires from these guys over the last 12 years. http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=362 they have free shipping so the individual tire price may seem higher than other sources.... places like Motorcycle Superstore can beat their pric...

Re: 600 mile service question

For the Big Ruckus (in 2006), the first 600 mile service included a valve adjustment, crankcase and final drive fluid change for $140.... that was several years ago. for the Forza it's only the oil and filter (~$20) and a visual check of all fasteners so I'll guess the final cost is $80-100. If you ...

Re: Can switch housing be rotated?

On most Hondas, the switch housing has an alignment pin into the handlebars that limits rotation. This is only apparent when you completely remove the housing. The lever perch is usually easy to rotate, within the limits of the hydraulic lines. In extreme cases of handlebar repositioning, I've used ...

Re: Decals

One of the better non-toxic decal/sticker/stickystuff removers I've used is common olive oil. Cut a piece of clean cloth the size of the decal, soak it in olive oil and lay it over the sticky/sticker? area. It will cling to all but the most vertical of surfaces. Leave it there 10-15 minutes and the ...

Re: Forza Rear Wheel Removal

Mike, you're going to want a service manual for this job.... if I had seen a detail of the rear swingarm, I might have had second thoughts on the Forza? The Forza has both disc brakes AND drum brakes on the rear! There is a small removable brake drum that fits inside the disc and over brake sh...

Re: What are your positives/negatives about the Forza?

I'm feeling unusually lame here....one mod was shaving the seat hump. What was the other mod? Fish I'm not even sure leaving something off qualifies as a mod? :D Anyway, the fact that it wasn't easily spotted is actually a PLUS here. I left the foam lined plastic heat guard off and painted the raw ...

For the non-ABS Forza, these pictures of two VINs start to give some idea of production rates over time.....

Re: What are your positives/negatives about the Forza?

I've had my Forza about 6 weeks and it now has about 1900 miles. During most of that time, fuel consumption has been 68-72mpg. That's mixed back road and highway miles, probably averaging 60-65mph (NC only has 70mph speed limits, but both Interstate and most state roads have the same 70 mph speed li...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

For UK riders, I think I would ask DaveNSS to share his VIN...his is the only UK pump failure known to us. I know some owners are protective of that information but if that's the case, perhaps he will share it offline or by PM with you? VIN information is part of the public record, much like your li...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

In markets where the assembly date is not marked, the only way to know if yours might be affected is for the owners with known pump failures to share their VIN. Their VIN becomes a local marker and each additional failure will help define a range. Since all European Forzas appear to be ABS, there wi...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Excellent! That would indicate not all ABS models are affected, but then there were probably way more ABS model production runs..... I'm betting the non-ABS models will be the smaller runs, since they are in the minority worldwide. so we're looking for 9/13, 10/13, 11/13, 12/13, 1/14, 2/14, 3/14 bir...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

I think we're missing the point here.... ABS or non-ABS isn't the criteria, it's totally coincidental to the issue. It's the assembly dates... from what we've gathered so far, there are 2 VIN ranges in the US: MLHNF0404xxxxxxxx (non-ABS) MLHNF0414xxxxxxxx (ABS) each of these will start with 000001 a...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Excellent news, BHaasie!

That puts your Forza's assembly in the last quarter of 2013, exactly as predicted.

now you can go out and rack up some miles on that scoot without worries!
Enjoy!

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems

Interesting but not too surprising at this point.... and I'd bet money that the scoot in Khan's thread "Dead Forza" was an ABS model as well. The two US confirmed fuel pump failures are ABS models and show VINs 198 and 219. The VIN range on US bikes should be easy to establish, but since w...

Hoyt: that looks like the front lower panel, under the floorboards, right? Honda calls it the left floor skirt. one screw goes in horizontally from the front, right at the radiator cover (through the front lower cover) one pushpin (trim clip) goes in vertically from bottom front corner one bolt goes...
