Top speed on mine before variator mod was 84mph on a flat road with a solid 90 second run up...
after variator mod top speed was 87mph on same road with ~50 second run up.
But there was more.....
I ran out of balls before the Forza did.

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Yes, you will regain most of the topend back......
going to all sliders dropped your gearing right across the entire range of the variator.
The three rollers will be taller than the three sliders and will restore the original gearing so you won't redline before you reach 85.

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Huge difference.....the whole point of this thread, in fact! :) with the slider roller mix, when you punch it hard acceleration will be close to what you now have, but the revs should be flat at ~6500 rpm the first 8-10 seconds or out to ~ 70mph. That's means the engine will probably be turning abou...

Re: honda motorcycle valve question
My best guess would be that after checking a few hundred thousand at 600 miles and finding no significant valve clearance change, they decided they were wasting their time and extended the service interval? I'm not personally familiar with that series.... was it a relatively new design in 2013? if s...

Re: over 40MPH without a screen?
There is one other consideration for a tall wind screen....your hearing. 50 years of riding, some off it with poor helmet styles (because they looked cool!) and without wind screens (because they didn't look cool!) have led to a condition known as tinnitus. It's more or less like the sound of 1 mill...

Re: a little rough or buzz at 4250-4400 rpm
The normal resonance from this bearing is at about 65mph, but at the low speeds you're describing, the clutch bushing is free wheeling in the bearing.... thus the specification to grease it on each removal and the fact that it easily slides in and out of the bearing. if this rather loose outboard bu...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Thanks....that's good to know! 9500 rpm! the lighter the weights, the higher the shiftpoint and the higher the revs required to reach high gear (top of the pulley)... most weight combinations (within reason?) will completely close the variator....eventually? the trick with sliders and lighter weight...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Try 6 x 19 gram sliders first (you're probably going to be bummed out by the slower 0-60 time!) That's the biggest issue with swapping rollers....going from 10 to 12 seconds in 0-60 time is very noticeable. with the graph comparing a slider curve to a roller curve it was pretty easy for me to see th...

Re: Forza 300 Valve Keeper Let Loose
http://www.sweethaven02.com/Automotive01/fig0353.gif I've also heard some refer to them as valve (spring) retainer locks... If it happened as the mechanic said, it is an extremely rare and troubling occurrence but it can happen to even the best engines on occasion. Still, I have to wonder if killin...

Re: Forza Rear Brake Dragging?
Fish, in another thread you mentioned a tire replacement.... are you saying the rear brakes are dragging more noticeably after the tire replacement/false swingarm removal? If so (and only if SO).... I suggest you check the service manual for proper swingarm removal and reinstallation.... whether or ...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
What I meant is that for any given total weight combination, 6 sliders will always give you the fastest 0-60 time with that weight. If raw acceleration is what you want then 6 sliders are the way to go. Keep in mind those 6 sliders will also have the highest cruise rpm of any combo with the same tot...

here's the same link I posted above but searching instead for a 2006 Reflex.... http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/#/l/hon/50be87d9f870022e103df92d/2006-nss250s-sac-parts you may have to tweak the search for ABS/non-ABS models also know that japan.webbike.com has tons of cool stuff for the olde...

Re: NSS300 Fuel Pump problems
I think most of us knew it would inevitably happen sooner or later.... We're glad you survived it! can you confirm a 10/13 assembly date? (these are on the VIN sticker) As far as we know, every Forza with a confirmed fuel pump failure came from that lot, even though the recall affects the total prod...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Here's another graph showing some runs with weights that are TOO light! http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r154/BRed1/revlimit.jpg these give a very good visual explanation as to how the rev limiter on the ECU works... a Big Ruckus is rev limited to 8500rpm, 500 revs lower than the Reflex and Foresi...

Re: Reflex part interchagable with Forza
for what it's worth, the Forza 250 was sold in various countries by these names....Forza, Reflex, Jazz, Foresight, Pantheon
the Piaggio X-9 used the same engine/cvt/wheel assembly.
sometimes the part you need may be available under a different name?

Re: Reflex part interchagable with Forza
So after 2 days it finally registered that you are not talking about a Forza 300!
um, I'm not sure if you're posting on the wrong forum or if I am?
Sorry!
I take it all back.....
brake pads and rotor for a 2006 Reflex definitely should work on a 2006 Forza!
Good luck!

Re: Reflex part interchagable with Forza
I don't think it will work...different part numbers and even a different shape, according to the parts fiche drawings... http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/hon/51b8de4bf870022e1c80d59c/rear-brake-caliper PAD (NISSIN) 06435-K04-701 is what you need and a reverse search only turns up Forza 300 ...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
these are posted elsewhere on this site but I thought I'd add them to this thread for clarity. here are several runs on a Big Ruckus 250cc using 6 - 19 grams sliders..... as you can see they are fairly consistent and usually show this same type of rpm curve.... they accelerate extremely fast, maybe ...

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT
Here's a graph that helps show this..... the graph show 3 sets of runs, all using 102 grams of weight. two of the sets of runs are using slider/roller mix and one is using 6 rollers. the runs also show some effects of rear clutch tuning, but the important thing to notice is how the setup using 6 rol...

go with the 15 gram rollers.
