Re: New PCX today!

Hmm, so probably no go for coating mirrors with that stuff? I'd imagine it would make it easier to clean.

Contrary to the claims, Plexus doesn't seem to repel much of anything including hard water stains.

Re: New PCX today!

I''m quite surprised you replaced the windshield given the effort you went through to coat it. Will you be coating the new shield too, or would that make it a little too reflective?

Re: Unspoken Law of "The Nod"

Pity there isn't a more universal guidebook to these hand signs. Had a guy point his hand to the road and wasn't sure if he was trying to indicate a hazard to me or something.

Re: Unspoken Law of "The Nod"

Actually, I generally find it easier to get to neutral by giving the shifter a small tap from 2nd like tapping your feet to a tune. Getting it into neutral from 1st is fairly difficult, as trying to use light to medium pressure gets me nowhere, while a hard shove up will pop it into 2nd. Back on top...

Re: Unspoken Law of "The Nod"

The shift to neutral has been kicking my ass. Every time I try to stick it there, I'm either in 1st or 2nd. Damned leg is also sore where the screws went in <_< I've also found that not depressing the clutch all the way tends to kill the engine if I'm stopped. The MSF course also drilled into my hea...

Re: Unspoken Law of "The Nod"

The contrasting experience is pretty interesting to me. Back on the PCX, it's rare for anyone to make any kind of acknowledgement to me. Might be a once a week occurrence. But just today I started riding on my CB300F and pretty much anyone who rode in the opposite lane made some kind of a waving ges...

Rode home on my new CB300F today! Dealership was pretty fast, even if the finance person seemed a little pissy with me for not buying the extended warranty. Re: A Lesson About Target Fixation

Leaning probably isn't a good idea if the traction on the road is questionable. Slow down, keep it upright, maybe counterbalance if she's going to lean over anyway.

Re: Why you shouldn't just let your friends teach you to rid

Even high-end helmets are just essentially a plastic shell with compressed styrofoam underneath. I'm well aware that the hundreds of dollars I shell out for one is largely for comfort, weight, and aerodynamics(which you'll learn to appreciate as you go on the freeways).

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...

Well honestly, the actual biker is a small asian woman, and it honestly seems like she and her significant other only recently got on the island with the only other form of transportation being a 50cc moped. She mentioned that she had no intention of riding on the highway, and my honest impression w...

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...

SOLD!!! Selling price was $2000. I personally felt I could have gotten $2500 for it if I waited, but class starts in August and I wanted to get used to riding a motorcycle before then. I suspect there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of getting $3000 for it. Upon reflection, I don't have an issue ...

Re: Unspoken Law of "The Nod"

I suppose the nod makes more sense in the city on a motorcycle when taking your hand off the clutch to wave might inadvertently kill the engine or slam you into the car in front of you.

Do they have any lot attendants in these lots?

The concept of free parking is foreign here, so there's always someone I can ask who takes the money in these lots.

Re: Hey Honda? Essential service should be EASY!

Yes, its called LTTTFA (leave the thing the fuck alone) Did 19000 or so miles on my PCX in three years, never touched it once. Still worked perfectly. I think Honda stipulate two years between changes, you can get away with four years, annual brake fluid changes are complete overkill. Or you know, ...

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...

Well I have one piece of good news: Ever since I sorted out the transmission problem(it was the center spring), my fuel economy has been going up to suspiciously high levels. It was reading 95 mpg when I filled up after a bit of highway riding(was really ramping up the miles), then insisted I got 10...

Re: Might be time to say goodbye...

If you still have the original parts, to boost the return, restore it to original and sell the modifications separately. Seriously Valiant....consider what gn2 said. Personally I would do exactly that. Remove your CL ad, strip the mods, put back the real PCX. Place new ad that makes "cents&quo...
