Re: Forza as a Do It All?

Aren't the BMW engines produced by Kymco? According to Consumer Reports survey(Mar 28, 2013) of owners (not testers) the Harley and Beemer were the lest reliable BUT had the highest loyalty and were more apt to repurchase than other brands. While this is not scientific fact, it is responses from own...

Re: Forza as a Do It All?

BMW have shocking reliability issues these days, best avoided. That's before thinking about the high seating position and high c of g. Burger 650 is an over complex barge, Honda Siverwing 600 is a much more sensible option. Also worthy of consideration is the Kymco 500 http://www.kymcousa.com/showr...

Re: Louisiana first snowfall

I think (therefore I am) that logepoge would highly benefit from a group picture within the next few months . He looks so lonely in the pic. The last time I rode a skuder through LA, was a few years back when I went to Tuscaloosa for some BBQ, then decided to ride on down to Biloxi to play a few slo...

Re: Louisiana first snowfall

No reason to escalate this. I started it by going off topic. I apologize.
All bikers don't do wheelies and beat up Rover drivers or belong to Hell's angels either (as many get the impression).
It snowed in La !!!!!

Re: It's Raining......

logepoge, may I recommend the little 12V airpump from wallyworld (unless you meant to keep at home). It was about $25 when I bought it last year. Comes in it's own tiny carry case, has a gauge built in. It even fits in my glove box with plenty room to spare. I got it and a tire patch kit for emergen...

Re: Louisiana first snowfall

Ratster, you are right. I was just imagining his situation and have witnessed 2 similar situations with fatal results that I allowed to spurred my unjustified response to his post.
I'll defer the LA LEO response to Logepoge as to refrain from another rant.

Re: Louisiana first snowfall

That just incinerates my derriere when truckers behave that way. So many are fighting for spacing laws, BUT let them pass a bike of any kind and they pull in close.
No, not all. The majority do.
I glad you had a safe trip though. I gotta meander down yonder and cruise the long bridge with my new ride.

Re: How do you carry water on the handle bars on your PCX 15

I did similar to maddiedog, I purchased a cooler bag from walmart, cut the strap and added a quick disconnect buckle. I raise the seat, buckle the cooler, close the seat and have 6 bottles of water handy. (or Mtn Dews). While I agree with Mel, I have on occasion, while riding in isolated areas, stil...

Re: Do you think the fairings will help?

Thanks Mich, Topcase is Givi Simply 45 Monolock. I bought it for my 2005 Silverwing and have used it on 5 other bikes. As far as the shields, I love to ride year round, but getting old and Arthur's family moved in... So I compensate. I'd rather ride and look a little dorky than not ride at all. As t...

Re: Do you think the fairings will help?

It was 75 here today. It was snowing this time last week with ice everywhere. Forecasters predicting another ice storm next Thursday. I wish it would settle on something This is very similar to the weather we had in '93. The snow was a bit worse (deeper) and the ice storm that followed put down a l...

Re: Do you think the fairings will help?

Mitch, in my smugness, I rode 365 miles Saturday. It was in the 40s when I left but I think the report said it was 33 when I returned that night 11pm. I made leg guards that were slightly larger than the ones I posted before. I have the handlebar mits, but didn't use them. I only used my homemade ha...

I bought 2 from wallyworld. But mine are 3 years old. One orange, one yella and back then I only paid $7.50.

WN, we get the same weather as Atlanta, but since CNN is located in Atlanta, they get the headlines....hahaha The photo was taken at the rest stop on I-65S entering Alabama from Tennessee. Huntsville is just east of there. Hence the rocket, for Redstone Arsenal. It was a balmy 40 (approx) when I sta...
