I have been given a quote on a new PCX 150. The bike is not on the showroom floor and would need to be delivered to the
dealership.

The price quoted is $3450 MSRP plus $1017 additional for tax, license and fees. Total would be $4467.

As I assume dealer markup is included in the MSRP, the addition fees seem a tad excessive. I'm wondering if this is in line with what other California residents have paid for their bike.

As the bike would be sold to an order, the dealer would have needed no investment in it as a floor model. I should think this would be worth something as a bargaining point.

I need a new full face helmet. As they could provide it at wholesale cost to themselves, I would like to include it in the deal.

I'm sure this topic has been discussed here. Forgive me, I am new here and am still learning to navigate the site.

Any input will be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! Over here you are more likely to get a discount off a dealer in the last day or so of the mth as they try and meet their mthly quotas! If you have a choice of a few dealers nearby go to all of them to see who will give you the best deal. If you also want a helmet, try and get one that will store under the PCX seat as not all large size helmets will fit.

There is only one Honda dealer anywhere near my location. I live midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.(170 miles or so in each direction)I

If I bought a bike elsewhere I would need to have it serviced by the local dealer, particularly during the warranty period. That could result in somewhat of a sticky wicket, don't you think?

I get mine serviced by a different dealer to where I bought it. They are happy for my service biz! If I were you I would get a offer in writing from LA or San Fran and then go to your local dealer near the end of the mth and ask them to match it!

Welcome! I shopped between three local dealers here in TN and they all had various shipping and destination charges, plus assembly and doc fees and taxes. Got quotes from all three for the same red PCX 150 that they each had on their showroom floor. Figured out that assembly on the PCX is very minimal. Comes in a crate needing mirrors attached and not much else. I was right at $4,200 out the door for just the bike. Probably could have pushed for a helmet to be included, but I already have one that I love. Hope that helps!

$4200 USD is just slightly more than the RRP of £2600 here in the UK currently at going exchange rates.

I'm on the CA Central Coast. The only nearby dealer is in San Louis Obispo. Santa Barbara is about 100 miles away.

I just got mine new for $3600 out the door and 2 free t shirts. I drove 400 miles round trip to get it, but the savings were worth it.

Prices in the USA vary greatly for the PCX. The MSRP is the same throughout, but dealer fees, taxes, and how much you can negotiate them down are the varying factors. $4467 sounds about right for a new PCX in California, a bit on the high end though.

In most states, you should be able to get one for $3800-$4300 out the door (jlgog got a great deal on his apparently :lol: ). I paid just under $4000 for mine new in Atlanta, GA.

I have a 2013 pcx150 and we paid the standard $3450 plus about $1000 in fees, taxes, etc. We had them take it out of the crate and build it since we wanted red and they had just gotten it in on the truck. Consider part of the fee as the build fee. When it came in it was in pieces in the box with no fluids, so your quoted price was about right.

Mine was fresh out of the crate also. I was happy about that. Also I was wrong about my out the door price. I just checked my paper work and it was :D $3599.92 :D

Santa Barbara Honda has a red PCX-150 in stock. You should at least call them and see if you can get a better deal.

You are not obligated to have any service performed by the same dealer that you bought it from. It's called capitalism and if your local dealer is wants to lose a sale because they are charging too much, well that's not your fault.

You could definitely bounce offers between the two dealers too, driving your price down.

^ I feel bad for my local shop, because that's EXACTLY what I did with my PCX during my first year of ownership, including a large warranty-covered repair. They're an authorized Honda dealer, so they loved it all the same even though they weren't the ones who sold it to me. :)
