abs brakes anything you should know before replacing pads?

Post by fullmetalscooter »

I ve got to do front seals, brake pads. Should I disconnect the abs senor or will just zipped typing the brakes caliber up hurt the abs at all ? I bought the manual and it say you should but I cant see it hurting anything if I don't .

Hasn't hurt mine. Don't kink the hose.

Make sure the pins get a little brake grease. My factory front pads wore out in 16,000 km but my current front pads have 77,000 km and counting. And yes I use my front brakes all the time.

I had a Yamaha BWS 49cc that was hard on front brakes. My dual sports also used a lot of front brake pads. The Forza uses more rear pads. A bit strange.

Which seals are you replacing? My fork seals sometimes leak.

Don't touch the seals unless they're leaking.
If they are leaking you'll probably need new pistons too.
