Where can I a good Quality Camera+DVR for my Honda PCX? Anyone Using?

I'm not sure about DVR but I'm using an SJCAM action camera mounted on either my helmet or the handlebars for two years now.

I guess another question will be where are you going to mount it? I tried mounting a dash-cam on my handlebars and it picked up a lot of vibration. I now have it mounted on my windshield, since I have one bigger than the original one, and it records through the windshield quite well. It is just one of those cheap Chinese knockoffs but it works.

It's kind of one of those things where things get better and better over time.

I avoided the GoPro treadmill and just got a toshiba equivalent.

Then I realised posting excruciating dull rides on a scooter on YouTube was not going to happen.

I have the dashcam for one reason only. If someone hits me from the front, within 170 degrees the camera advertising says, then I have it on record. This includes all of those idiots in our area who run red lights just because they don't think they should have to wait. We have a LOT of those, and a lot of them end up in accidents eventually but don't care because they have good insurance. Even if it isn't me that gets hit, I will have them on camera if they hit someone else.

The camera runs in a loop, saving every 10 minutes. When it runs out of space it will start writing over the previous ones, but there is a lot that gets saved.
It also saves for 1 minute after the ignition is turned off.

I had it installed by the car electrician 6 months ago and it works perfectly so far. This is a very good and reliable dual front/back DVR which I use as a black box. It starts automatically from the time of ignition until switch off. When in stop & go mode, it keeps on recording. the main unit is located under the seat and I check the recording only in case of some extra situation. Otherwise, I don't even think about it and just let it record automatically.
If you want to watch/post your recordings often, then I'd rather suggest an action camera.

I really like the idea of that camera, but I read one of the reviews that mentioned not being able to get a replacement cable for it. Do you know if the cables are proprietary?

I have been trying to convince my wife to get a dash-cam for the car but she doesn't want something bulky or wires running all over the dash. To me that means running wires where they can't be seen. That may mean running our own wiring.

This camera model is primarily designed for motorcycles and scooters therefore with rather short wires. It is an unbranded model so it may be difficult to get replacement cables. I really can't tel if the cables are standard or proprietary as I had it installed by the professional and did not ask much.
On my last car I had a dash cam. I have installed it behind the mirror and hidden the wires around the windscreen.
Now I am using Garmin NuviCam GPS that has a built-in camera. This is a higher quality then the no-name Chinese ones. Unfortunately not supporting a rear camera
If I would be buying a dash cam for my car now, I would go for a dash cam built for a car with twin front/rear camera.

Probably somewhere on the forum there was a similar topic, but I have a question where to place the recorder, so nothing to break, was beautiful and the vandals didn't steal it. At first I placed the recorder under the headlight, pressing the plastic sheet, but began to hit the front fender of the wheel on the large bumps of the road, then moved deeper, adding a plate, but the review of the road because of this deteriorated.
Are there any more comfortable seats with minimal, harmless PCX rework? To avoid hitting the wing, put an extra plate, but now the review is bad

It looks to me like you may be better off moving the camera back to where you had it previously and putting some felt on the bottom of the camera for when it hits the fender.

Otherwise, you could put the camera up even with the white panel that attaches right under the headlight. I believe that there are two screws that hold it on. You might be able to attach a bracket for the camera using those screws. The problem then would be that it would be more visible to thieves. I would rather that the camera occasionally hit the fender than put it where it is visible to thieves, if that is your main concern.

Blows quite offensive, I fear that even if something is to enclose the wing or the camera can burst. The bumps mostly on small roads with humps, which limited the speed of movement, suspension travel (front fork) is quite large.
Tried to put on the sides, in the recess of the front wing, but then prevents the turn of the steering wheel.

My setup is pretty simple. I have a GoPro 5 mounted on a "GoPro Chesty" harness that I put over my riding jacket. I don't like anything mounted on my helmet or on the bike; video is way too choppy.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I will never buy another GoPro camera ever again. I've had so many issues with mine and their customer support has been slow and awful. They finally replaced my GoPro 5 for the third time just last month, but I first purchased it in July of last year. So far no problems with this one. Fingers crossed.

Yes, many advised to buy a camera to mount on a jacket, but every time in different clothes, today in a jacket, tomorrow in a shirt or a t-shirt, it is inconvenient to use.

Tommy, This video is from other models of motorcycles and scooter, and most of all interested in the individual installation, which is best suited for the design of the PCX150.
p.s. In the video with the scooter XMAX400 you have a camera (recorder) behind the windshield. In PCX150 original glass is darkened, there is no possibility to place so.

I see your problem, especially since you say that you have the original factory installed windshield. Trying to get a good video but also keeping the camera hidden is a problem.

The ones you show that are smaller might be less obvious. You might end up making a special bracket of some sort for those, and then maybe, just maybe, you might be able to mount one on your handlebar or maybe even on the front of the windshield. I have a RAM mount on my bike brake reservoir that can hold a camera. There are also ones that bolt to the handlebar, so I know you could use one of those. I don't know if thieves would take it though, if that is a major concern for you.

You would just have to experiment with what would be the best for your particular bike. Good luck. I am sure there is a solution. It will just take some experimenting to see what works best. Have

Mel46, thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried the steering wheel and the windshield. Steering wheel - constantly spinning, recording quality deteriorates, and the windshield - it is constantly shaking, more than the suspension PCX150. Therefore, a more convenient place - under the headlight, but there are still nuances of installation.

Helmet mount is not an option for you?
It solves problem od thieves seeing it and stealing,
Its tucked in helmet compartment,
But as a plus, as Ive luckily seen only online,
If they overtake you and try to steal bike from you, the recording wont go with them but stay with you...

Some risky countries jave much of this happening around.


And not mentioning other benefits of helmet cam, they Will see it and probably just pasa by to look for someone else that day
+the car drivers around you are driving more 'corectly' and will not do some stuff on purpose when they know you have a camera on...

Depending of your driving routine, charging coul ne set up while it is in storage box or charged at work/bome...
Battery lasts a couple of hours.
