2019 model - Buzzing - ABS?

Post by marc1973 »

Hello there I brought the new shape 125cc pcx 2019 model with abs I have a question, when the abs light goes out there's a buzz noise, does it have a buzzer to indicate that abs is active? This only happens during the abs phase

I get a strange buzz like a spring has been let go just after moving off usually,my noise seems only happen after starting from cold,in the first few seconds, unsure if it's the same nose you're getting.

I have been researching on the web, it might be the ABS self test,it seems to be linked to the ABS light going out,and the fact that the bike has to move a few feet. Apparently with ABS it has to detect movement before it self tests, most of my research brought up cars,so our noise is likely to be different.

I'd ask a dealer, after all they are selling the bike and should know for sure.

I bought a new 2017 model less than 3 months ago. I wish I'd waited now and had the new model!

I would still rather have a traditional key and lock than the keyless ignition. Ok, only a few have issues but from posts of FB forums it seems when it goes wrong it's an expensive pain in the . . .

Hey everyone, I've just got the new 2019 PCX and I noticed the buzz when I started the bike for the first time too. Is this normal?

I haven’t checked with dealer, although nothing was said when they did first service. I am assuming it is normal. Sometimes it will buzz when it feels like it,but normally it is just before abs light goes out, think it’s coming from what looks like an ecu which is situated up by right hand fork,as stated I am pretty sure it’s an abs self test.

I have a 2018 french model (the newer with abs) and i got the same buzzing noise when the ABS light dissapear (around 10 kmh after startup).
I asked the dealer and he says its absolutely normal.
I noted that the same noise starts again when the ABS is in action, or when you take a big bump at speed.

I assume it's normal , just the ABS unit test at start, and ABS getting ready when there is some huge bumps and a locking wheel hazard.

It's not very loud and ABS works very very well, even with strong braking on white lane under the rain, so i will not worry about it ;)

I've bought a 2019 model as well today. I also have the buzzing sound when the ABS light goes off. I think it's quite strange that it hasn't been mentioned in the manual.

I have had that happen to me before I bought a Honda pcx 125cc in early 2014 and later on they released a new model with a new shape I was slightly gutted.
But fortunately this time I have got the new model with the front ABS the better back suspension the larger seat space and a slightly larger engine and slightly larger wheels and I have heard it got a better top end speed, But it is not a cheap scooter anymore its £300 more than the old one, I don't know if they will lose some of their old customer as this will raises the hp on them.

They have not lost me but they have fixed everything that I hated about my old one. But that why they have increased the price and it is a slightly bigger bike now.

It will just buzz. A lot of bikes do and early cars with ABS. That's it.

Please. FFS

Is ffs what it’s called?

Have you got a 2019 PCX 125 or heard it?

The only car manufacturer that would have had a check this loud would have been Ford with their model T
