Is July hail normal? I've never seen it across here before. Or at least haven't noticed it.

Sure, hail can be in many storms in the summer. Weatherman freq gives hail warnings for approaching storms - fortunately doesn't always materialize.

"In the heat of heat, the heat gets so HOT!"
Storms brew, systems collide, white ice falls. Yes, hail in July and at other strange times, as fish said.

Flashback: In my thirties I was helping a neighbor install 6' stockade fencing. We were augging post holes when it got dark. The sky grew weird then golf balls fell. They hurt. Mike's Chevy Malibu was parked out front with all it's windows open :o
We dropped the auger and ran to the front. Haha! There was no weaving through that shower! Hail was bouncing off us and everywhere else. Like ping pong balls! We hopped inside the car, rolled up windows, sat back watched and listened. Nature, truly Amazing. Dang! snow(balls) in "July!"

Don't see it often in NY, but in Florida? Whoa.....

...and Georgia too. Not only hail, but we are also part of the famous "Tornado Alley" . Why it dips down here is a big question.

Everyone is use to Kansas, Oklahoma and even Tennessee, but somehow Alabama and Georgia have a certain area in which really bad storms spin up and produce a pack of tornadoes. You are crazy if you live in a trailer down here.

A thunderstorm came up when I was at Andersonville (Civil War Prison Camp) with the family and my in-laws some years ago and as we were leaving we looped around the cemetery. . .very windy. . .heavy rain. . .very dark. . .very spooky. I was waiting to see Alfred Hitchcock appear in the shadows of a lightening flash. Yup Georgia sure gets some heavy duty storms. I'll attest to that! o_O

People run into trouble when they get some hail damage (not enough for the car to be a write-off by the insurance company) and try to make it look worse by taking a ball-peen hammer to make it look like more damage in the hopes of getting a 100% write-off. Typically they put little dents over the whole car. The insurance company finds out if the car was parked (which it typically is) and then catch the person lying because it is generally only two sides of the car (as well as the top) that get damaged, according to the prevailing winds.
2010 Honda PCX 125 in Thailand (White) - "White Lightning" Sold in Sept 2017 :(
2009 Yamaha Majesty YP400 in USA (Metalic Titanium) - "The Throne" Sold in June 2020 :(

Fortunately hail like that is generally confined to a small area, usually near car dealerships.

Does no one ever die from something like that free falling on their head? I guarantee the first in history won't be a millennial... they never go outside.
