Pizza Carrier Rack?

Post by IvyGodivy »

Looking for a good platform setup to anchor a pizza box.

I decided not to get the helmet box for just don't like how it looks and hangs past the back wheel. But a multi-bar rack like thing where I can lay a pizza box on and use bungee cords sounds appealing.

1. Is there something like this?
2. If yes, preferred brands and etc.?

There is a website in Japan that sells all sorts of carrier racks. Unfortunately, they have recently raised their shipping costs to a point that I would call PROHIBITIVE. (Look in that blue box and you will see for yourself.)

You might consider looking at the Honda tail rack. Ask you dealer if you can look at one. It might do what you need for it to do.

I got the Givi arms that are to anchor a trunk platform; and then bolted in a milk crate.

I have the generic net, zip-lock tied to it at one end - use hooks to hold it pulled over.

I can set a pizza box on top of the milk crate (four gallon size crate) and stretch the net over, and even though the pizza box is bigger all around, it sits fine.

No guarantees, though, if the pizza will be hot when you get where you're going.

I saw, somewhere, a pizza case that is suppose to keep the pizza hot while being transported. It should be easy enough to strap on the back of the bike on that rack.

I had a monolock rear rack which a mechanic fitted a piece of wood to and the pizza box on top of that.

2 bits of marine ply & enough 2" x 2" for 3 sides to make a shallow box. Insert pizza, wrap a couple of bungies round.

Could even mount a givi plate on top :)
