Agreed. I think there was a Forza, but I didn't look to see how it did. The older Helix and related models are still very popular for this run. Its every other year, so we need to wait until 2020 for a PCX entry.

What say you/I go hither and look for that "Fountain of Youth?" It's gotta be there somewhere! :ugeek:

Yes, I spotted 5 or so Honda Helix's in the mix, and saw 2 Forza's as well! Anybody from Here??

I recognized a few of the scooterist's names (from the MV forum) in the Run:
Twas one of the few Piaggio MP3's, a 250 in #1 - rider: staggart
OAD in 4th
Bagel in 11th
tdrake in 14th
gopam in 25th
wleuthold in 29th

I Be Proud of All of Them!!! 8)

I think it is great to complete it, even if they didn't place at the top. That is a lot of miles on little wheels and weak backs. It is a once in a lifetime thing, just for the fun of it.

Lots of repeat competitors - which was a surprise given I share Mel46's "once in a lifetime" view of it.

There's apparently a decent amount of dirt/unpaved road and some gnarly climbs and mountain passes too. I'd think this would favor the larger displacements and possibly the 3-wheelers. Not sure if I'd want to ride a PCX thru all of that.

LOL, I hear ya ... maybe I would try that 30 years ago. Last year, I did 107 miles on a ride with my PCX and the scoot was great (and I was fine too) but I couldn't have done yet another 250 miles (these guys easily do 350 a day). Not to mention doing it for 10 straight days.

At least the EFI fuel injection would care for the altitude changes; on several days their route elevations varied by over 5,000 ft. I can't imagine how an older normally aspirated scooter could easily deal with that, especially the 2-strokes.
