Seat release back up

I read the "Seat release back up ... Auxiliary Seat Latch Release" thread, but have no idea what you are describing for how to do it. Please explain with pictures if possible. It makes no sense to have battery there - if dead can not open seat to change.

??? I thought the seat release is cable actuated?

Electric switch activates latch. If dead battery can't open to change - sounds like a Chinese design not Honda.

Not on a PCX, surprisingly enough the combined Fuel and seat switch beside the ignition operates two mechanical bowden cables.
The reason the switch is beside the ignition is because that when the steering lock is engaged it also mechanically locks the seat/fuel switch.
No electrickery involved in the security of a PCX.

Thanks.
BUT... Why are there posts in another thread regarding using a chain to undo seat lock?

Unlikely, but it would be possible to lock you keys in the box.

Maybe not that unlikely if you put your keys in your jacket and then stash the jacket....

Thanks for clearing up the "misinformation". I always have 2 sets when traveling - especially for my "errors".

When I had a scooter and used the underseat storage for helmet and riding gear I always left the key in the lock until it was time to walk away.
Last thing to do was check scooter steering and seat locked properly then take key out and walk away.
Never take the key out with the seat open, its a recipe for disaster...

My other key policy is nothing attached to the key.
Once removed from the lock the key goes on a quick release on my keyring which lives in a jacket pocket.
Nothing dangling off the key means you don't get any unsightly wear/scratches around the ignition switch. ;)

I am one of those people who has to have something attached to the key. It makes it easier to locate, plus I have the key for the tail box on the same ring.

As far as locking keys under the seat, my wife has done that twice. It is easy to do. In her case, the first time was when she stored her jacket under the seat. The second time, she had the keys in her hand but put them down with the seat open while she removed her helmet. The seat accidentally fell down and locked her keys under it.

From then on, I carry her spare and she carries my spare. We ride together, so now all I need to do is get the spare out, which is under my seat (I hope we never get into a situation where we both lock our keys under the seat... :-/ )

I usually keep my riding jacket with me, with my key in my zip up pocket. Hmmm... that may not be a good idea during the summer. I will have to rethink this.

Same here. Honda tried there best to make it idiot proof, all I can do is continue in the same vein.

It doesn't seem difficult.

My motorcycle's battery died, and I managed to buy this emergency key on ebay, because I don't have the original emergency key for my motorcycle, now I have a doubt, this emergency key that I bought came with 4 magnets, they must be inserted into the emergency key, but the emergency key has 6 slots, how do I find out what order I should put the magnets in to work on my motorcycle?
