Thought I could squeeze between something and scratched the lower cover, what a loser

Partzilla (pearl white) right side lower cover
13.95 plus 7.00 shipping

Reflective tape and Honda decal will cost me more then the ENTIRE panel 8)
Not really a reason to never try and squeeze through again

It is just a little scratch in the decal. Black nail polish will hide that. Don't worry, Precious will still look pretty.

Ouch!! Well, heck. Hmmm..... well you could do a temporary touchup, but eventually Precious will need a new panel. Poor thing. Look what you did to poor Precious!

I still can't believe partzilla will send a new panel for 20.00
Does anyone understand the politics behind this penance for Honda plastics in the USA?

Heck, those panels are made on every street corner in Thailand. They have to sell them somewhere!

Unpleasant just to think about doing that let alone actually seeing it happen. :o

For a second I thought the same thing Mel did . . . it looked like a really small scratch on the decal. But when you pointed it out it seemed like the iceberg vs. the Titanic. o_O

Life will go on but you may want to hang onto the old panel just for sentimental reasons. . ..

Could be worse - I went through the local DIY drive-through - strapped some 1m cavity baton lengths across the back - and tried to shoot the gap between the barrier arm and the wall.

Unfortunately, the height of the strapped on timber from the ground was EXACTLY the same height as the barrier arm from the ground. "Horse" was fine (didn't feel a thing), but the barrier arm folded like a soggy noodle. I felt about 6 inches tall explaining it to the store manager. And then of course there was the paperwork ...

All depends on how critical about scratches one is. Replacing panel is sure fire best way to treat the most discerning , however a simpler way would be to use a fine artist brush using the right pearl white manufacturer paint and just carefully brush over the scratch. Similar to a pin stripe technique using a pin striping brush. Only one who will ever notice will be you. I guess if the panel is available that would be the best way, however you do run the risk of breaking tabs .

Make sure it is an original Honda panel Homie! I ordered a replacement part from somewhere overseas; and while it did fit, it was not as stiff as the original panel that I broke. The replacement panel was a lot more "flimsy", but it still works fine. If Precious needs to remain perfect . . . it is just something to think about!

I read somewhere on this forum that someone fixed their scratch using some scratch filler and matching paint, followed by clear coat. That is a lot of work, but in your case it might not be as much work as replacing the panel plus the decal.

I'm very, very curious to see what actually comes from partzilla. The cost is too low and why I didn't order left and right. Let's get a look at the product, the color match and the material then I will report more information. I do have the touch up paint in pearl white and might play with the OEM panel later on to so see if I can produce a decent repair job.

If in fact the partzilla panels are OEM I will order the opposing side and blow off the decals and reflective stripes all together for another 13.00 panel :) because DAHAM that's a good price for plastics.

Has it messed with the "prestige"?
