Hi,
Building up my bits list for replacing the clutch bearing, clutch pads and other maintenance tasks, but one thing that seems harder to find is a good 6 sided 37mm clutch socket. Apparently some of the Ebay bought ones from China can be more 38mm than the quoted 37 which is not a good thing, so anyone know of a reasonably priced and UK obtainable socket? - don't want to spend £30-50 on a top brand one for what will be very occasional use.
There's a youttube video of someone using an adjustable wrench for removal, holding it on and banging the end of the wrench on the floor to loosen the bolt - works well but not so good for re-installation
Seems a good torque wrench will be in the region of £60-70 - is it needed? Can you just add marks for where the bolt or nut was before removal and tighten back to that spot?

Faced with exactly the same maintenance task, I recently purchased a torque wrench - cost me NZD $31. Doesn't need to be fancy - just needs to work.
Looks like this one, but new:

I'll face the same dilemma with the socket - I'll probably just borrow one from a mate - or buy it if I'm feeling rich. Agree that it is a bitter pill to have to swallow though.

Re: Clutch 6-sided 37mm socket - hard to find
I believe it should be a 6-sided 39mm (not 37mm!) socket - good thing I had not ordered one yet. Surprised no one spotted my mistake
I believe something like this should be fine?

How about this, it's an impact socket so should be ok. 3/4" drive so you might need a converter.https://www.toolstoday.co.uk/iss-3-4-dr ... tkQAvD_BwEiceman wrote:I believe it should be a 6-sided 39mm (not 37mm!) socket - good thing I had not ordered one yet. Surprised no one spotted my mistake
