Anyone changed their rear drum brakes, and are there any special tools needed to accomplish the job?

Hmm, I took a look over in the How To sub-forum and to my surprise saw nothing on rear brakes.
Did I miss something? homie....guys....gals....anyone R/R them?

Because they are drums and the shoes will probably outlast the rest of the bike?

No special tools. Take the rear wheel off and there they are..

I agree I changed mine last season when I fitted winter tyres, took me a matter of minutes, they had 14000 miles on them and were hardly worn!

I put on Daytona shoes, those blue ones bought on the Webike. I really enjoyed the performance.
At front brakes I put SBS and inserts is flexible of brand Hel install, it was great ... Almost an ABS hehehe
