Iron Butt on a Forza

I just did an Iron Butt on my Forza June 24th. 30 riders departed Sault Ste. Marie, MI and had 24 hours to complete a 1052 mile lap of Lake Superior. I did it in 21 hours. My fuel stops were Wawa Ont, Marathon Ont, Nipigon Ont, Thunder Bay Ont, Tofte MN, Superior WI, Wakefield MI, Ishpheming MI, Newberry MI. I was the 5th rider back. 5 riders had to drop for various reasons, mostly because it rained the last 400 miles.
The Forza performed wonderful. Zero problems and my riding gear kept me dry. I only took one pic and that was at the start

That wing came down from Alaska to do this ride. I would have got back sooner if the speed limits in Canada were faster. My top speed on my GPS for the 1052 miles said 84.9 mph.
My average moving speed was 57 mph.

I left at 6am Sat and got back at 3am Sun. Counted 27 deer in the last 75 miles that keeps one awake. More pics here:

I had no doubt that the Forza could do an Iron Butt.

I know my beat up old body would never last that long. I recently did 370 miles in a day and that was painful.

Congrats on the personal endurance.

What pained you? I have Mallosi shocks and I sit on a Saddleman gel pad permanently mounted to a sheepskin. For this ride, I carved up a tree stand foam pad for more support ( you can see a little piece of blaze orange peeking out in my pic). The Forza rode and handled great at speed. I go 210# and had the shocks set on max preload.
Only other mods were crampbusters on each grip, grip puppies, and a Honda tall screen. Had a quart of fuel velcroed in the top case but never used it. And a cheap fleaBay GPS mount on the bars. I spooned on a set of City Grips a week or so ago. The stock front still had some miles on it but the date code said 2012 so off it came. Before the start I let out 1# of air in each tire so front was 28# rear 32#.

I forgot two other mods. The handguards are Chic Design from Japan. I had them on a CB1100 but they fit the Forza perfect. And I bought a left side CB500X mirror on fleaBay. It helps cover that blind spot on interstate rides.

The pain was from a previously fractured spine, a fractured arm, a fractured collarbone, a fractured finger, a fractured ribs, a fractured head, a fractured hip. All done at separate times.

If I had known I would live this long I might have been more careful.

I am sure I'm younger but I doubt I can ride that long straight hours. Respect

Sorry Ole, you don't qualify as an old fart until you at least turn 60.

I'm a qualified old fart at 75, wait your turn :D :D :D
