Imagine doing this everyday (2x) .. A bone jarring experience.. and a prayer it doesn't rain.. (which is very frequent)
Note : Turn down volume in the beginning but gets better later on..

A few years ago I had to drop off some furniture for one of my daughters when she was living right near the Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side. Came down the East Side. What a pain in the neck. But we were able to take some nice walks to the waterfront there and see the old Light Ship. Before that she lived over near Battery Park on West St.. So the video brought back some memories of driving around and competing for space and always on the alert for road irregularities. Maybe I'm getting old but I'd never want to ride a motorcycle or scooter in NYC. It's too much like work.

Yeah, I used to park at the fulton street fish market on Sundays and walk all over the financial district and go down to the battery. Never during the week.

This was what he was riding. A Kymco People 150....mint green.
It is a big-wheeled scooter so probably handled that crappy road better than most.

Great little scooter, so of course this version has been discontinued.

Came in various colors - all were best suited for less than a size 14 boot.

I need me some of that > "Scooter Therapy."
I'll just roll on through the Big Apple over hills and dales of potholes and get me some quick Scooter Therapy!
Oh yeahhh baby

What a video! And, what an awful ride! Best part was when he met up at a light with another rider. Hello/Goodbye/Good day :D

I didn't know that you could ride a scooter in a bike lane?I also wonder why people beep their horns.. does anybody really care or pay attention? The fellow is doing 50 mph over the QB bridge hoping he doesn't hit a newborn pothole.Hope it doesn't rain on the way back..NYC asphalt is like black ice in the wet.

That other scoot was a Vino, wasn't it? 50 or the 125.
Nearly bought one - but dealer wanted $2999 for a used one + 'important dealer added paper-work stuff and a wipe with a rag/prep' (another $400 / $500) Lovely wine colored scooter.

Yeah that chrome beamer is a dead give-away! Vino is his name-o :D
I would have loved to have said it's an (Aprilia) "Mojito" as I have a passion for those. I almost bought a Black one sitting on the Vespa showroom in 2006/2007. Sat on it, then left the store. Came back the following day > Gone. I missed out on a Big Ruck the same way. This pattern of mine broke my heart twice. Never again!

Pics for those that never saw one (with a bit of customizing) 8) Feeling the Love

I bet You could bathe in a filled City pot-hole!

erider, I thought the same. Surprised he was cruising along in his very own lane. Is it a HOV lane? I see that he catches up with another vehicle that's before him. Or did he just blend in with traffic at that point (don't quite remember - it was a long ride afterall  ) Really, a bicycle lane? Hmm. Maybe? Well, he's got it made travelling in that lane if it's legal for his use. Other than that, I'd take other means of transportation into Manhattan from Queens.
(Thank God he turned that music off! That would get me into an accident!)

Correct, NY City streets are amuck with grime and what have you - for pete's sake, the kids can use them as slip n slide during a rain.
Nah, you can have the City roads and the Danger that lurks on them.
Of the two, Long Island is a better choice, You know that :D

I thought we had bad streets in Chicago. Trucking companies complained to the President recently that the cost to maintain their fleets were ridiculous because of bad streets and highways. Kind of funny since those same haulers do 90% of the wear, stress and damage to the streets and highways but trucks and truckers are the life blood of the nation.

A Grand photo PCX150 :P The Statue of Liberty

Ellis Island/Liberty Island (a 12 acre island) where this Lady has resided since 1886 thanks to Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, a French Sculptor. She welcomed both sets of my Grandparent's from Europe.
Funny, I've lived here most of my life and I've never visited this magnificent copper statue. Shame on me. She's a big gal, standing from ground level to torch 305 feet 1 inch (93 meters).

Someday I shall visit her and our once tallest building in NYC, the Empire State Building where my Father worked as a young man. He was in the building when a low flying plane crashed into it. Tall buildings must get in the way

Ok Done. Sorry, I got carried away.
